Disney to Launch Two New Disney Infinity Apps

Disney-Infinity-001-600x300

Disney is going all out in their support for the upcoming Disney Infinity game and toy franchise, with the company prepping the launch of two mobile apps for the property bearing many of their most iconic characters.

The first app is dubbed Disney Infinity: Toy Box, which is exclusive to the iPad and will allow players to build new worlds and interact with characters, as well as export their creations to the main console game. It can work both ways as worlds that were built on the console can be transferred to the iPad version.

Disney is initially offering up more than 60 terrains, tracks and decorations that can be manipulated on the iPad screen to build new worlds. As new items are unlocked on the console version of the game, they will also become available on the iPad apps. Items that gamers buy separately will also be available, while items can also be purchased in the apps for $0.99. The base app is free to download, and comes with Mr. Incredible.

Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Turtles-Out-Of-The-Shadows-600x300

Videogames based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise have always been good, addictive fun – at least until they decided to turn it into parkour games last gen, but on the whole, you’re guaranteed hours of ninja-themed fun oozing (get it? haw!) with excitement while you hack, slash, and kick away at the bad guys using any of the four turtles. The upcoming game TMNT: Out of the Shadows seems poised to continue that, and this new trailer showing off Donatello proves it:

Disney Releases New Trailer For Infinity: Toy Box

Disney Releases New Trailer For Infinity: Toy Box

Disney has just released a brand new trailer for their upcoming game Disney Infinity, which will be released on the Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo 3DS, PS Vita, and PC on August 18. The game will allow players to enjoy games set in a wide variety of settings and featuring popular characters from Disney’s rich library of films and shows, including settings and characters from Pixar (which is part of Disney now, in case you’ve been living under a rock.)

Disney Infinity will use actual collectible character figures that come to life in the game via the Infinity Base Reader, providing experiences that are true to the franchises that they came from (similar to the Skylanders game.) There’s also a feature that allows characters from various Disney and Pixar films to play together in a virtual “Toy Box.”

The PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Wii U ports of Disney Infinity will be identical (barring minor differences resulting from each console’s capabilities), but there are no plans for cross-platform multiplayer at this point. The PC version will use codes that are purchased online instead of the Infinity Base Reader, the figurines, and discs.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 Won't Come Out for PS Vita in the US

One Piece fans had a lot to be happy about these days, with One Piece Film Z becoming one of the highest grossing films in Japan, and One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 proving to be every bit as kick ass as the franchise that inspired it. Unfortunately, US fans won’t be able to join in on the Pirate-themed celebrations as not only is the film currently exclusive to Japan, and One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 won’t be ported to the PS Vita in the US.

Introducing Ben 10: Omniverse's Co-Op Partner, Rook

The worldwide premiere of Ben 10: Omniverse is looming, with the September 22 launch date creeping every slowly. Now, it’s pretty much a given that a franchise as popular as Ben 10 will get a brand-spanking new videogame tie-in, but how do you top the previous efforts? There’s literally dozens of Ben 10 games already, with each one trying to up the ante in one way or another: give him the ability to change forms in-game, make it 3D, put him in a friggin’ kart race! What else is left?

Easy, give him a co-op partner: Rook Blonko.
