New HOP Mini Movie

The hit CG animated movie HOP is coming to Blu Ray and DVD this week, and as a way of reminding you of the humor and hijinks of the rebellious young rabit E.B. (voiced by Russell Brand), Universal Studios has released “Phil’s Dance Party”, a new mini movie starring fan-favorite chicks Phil and Carlos showing off their (well, Phil’s) infectious dance moves:

Universal’s Hop rocks from April 1st through Easter Day

Universal's Hop rocks from April 1st through Easter Day

On April 1st, Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment brought Hop to theaters. The live-action and CG hybrid film tells the story of E.B., a teenage rabbit who leaves his home on Easter Island to pursue his dream of becoming a drummer in Hollywood, rather than take over his father’s role as the Easter Bunny. Once in California, E.B. meets Fred O’Hare, who brings his new rabbit friend home. But just as the two think they can’t handle any more, they’re both faced to grow up, doing what they can to save Easter from a evil Easter Chick named Carlos. Now, the Easter Bunny’s big day is finally here, with the Easter Holiday! And with the film still going strong in theaters, it’s likely we could see a nice …jump… in the box office before the weekend is out!

Easter Bunny Hop back to box office lead for Universal

Not a bad weekend for Russell Brand. Not only did the British comedian provide the voice for the number one film in the box office race, Hop’s Easter Bunny, he was also the star in the second place, live-action film, Arthur. From cartoon to actor in 10 seconds flat – and to the tune of $33 million for both! Since opening April 1st, Hop has generated nearly $70 million dollars for Universal. The live action and CG hybrid has done the Easter Bunny justice, still a full two weeks from his holiday! Take a look at the full box office ranking – maybe Russel Brand is in there a few more times

Spread the word, Minions: Despicable Me on Blu-ray and DVD December 14th

Tomorrow morning, the holiday season adds a whole new dimension to the table, as Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment bring Despicable Me home to Blu-ray and DVD. The 3D and CG comedy starring Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews, Will Arnett, Kristen Wiig, and Miranda Cosgrove pulled in about $500 million across the globe when it hit theaters earlier this year. Now, the story of supervillain Gru and his three orphan girls is ready for a home audience, with studios hoping for the same giant success. You ready for the adventure?!

Despicable Me is despicable today says Universal Pictures

One of the world’s greatest super-villains has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith, and Agnes. Never before has dastardly and evil Gru been faced with such a task. Shrink rays, freeze rays, combat vehicles… sure. That’s all commonplace. But being a father figure to a grouping of sweet kids? That’s new on the list. Such is the story of Despicable Me, the creation of Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment which reaches theaters today, July 9th. The 3D and CG animated film stars Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Miranda Cosgrove, and Julie Andrews. Critics and fans, alike, are expecting big things from the film, though it does have stiff competition with Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 3, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and The Last Airbender. I think it’s time to give evil, and Gru, a chance!!
