The Hub Announces Holiday-Themed Slate

The Hub Announces Holiday-Themed Slate

One of the nice things about the holiday season is that cartoon networks all celebrate the occasion by airing holiday specials or holiday-themed episodes of their hit series. The Hub has recently laid their cards down on the table by revealing their exciting holiday programming plans.

Biggest news is the return of the popular Spielberg animated series Animaniacs, which went off the air last 1999. The Hub will be bringing back the Amblin/Warner Bros. show via a four-hour marathon on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24, 4-8p ET. This will be followed by a holiday-themed musical feature called Animaniacs: Wakko’s Wish at 8 to 10 PM. Afterwards, the show will continue on the network’s regular schedule in 2013 via the Monday, 3p timeslot.

Just in time for Halloween, Archie Comics and Moonscoop have unveiled their realized plans to bring Sabrina the Teenage Witch back to TV. With an all new animated look, the show will bring Sabrina to new audiences, with up to date style and modern-day witch issues. While also producing hit toons like the Fantastic Four and Hero: 108, Moonscoop hopes to have the show ready to air in 2012. No network has yet been named, though Nickelodeon does have a long-standing relationship with the brand, having run the live-action version with Melissa Joan Hart for several seasons. Take a look at some renderings of the character!
