Danny Phantom Season One DVD collection, from Nickelodeon and Shout!

After all this waiting, we’re finally ready to take a trip to the other side! On September 13th, Nickelodeon finally welcomes Danny Phantom home to DVD in a collection from Shout! Factory, Danny Phantom: Season One. Twenty episodes are collected across four discs, offering all of the old school goodness you could hope for. Originally created by Butch Hartman, the man behind Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom holds the honorary title of being the first of the Nicktoons to be properly called a super hero, and this DVD package is proof he’s here to save the day.

Danny Phantom hits Nickelodeon DVD September 13th from Shout! Factory

Danny Fenton is a regular, good-natured, very-ordinary 14 year old teenage boy. Well, except for the extraordinary ectoplasmic portions of his DNA that give him ghost-like abilities. Sure, that. When specters, spooks, or even violent ghost-hunters threaten the world, Danny Fenton becomes Danny Phantom who, along with Tucker and Sam, helps repeatedly save the world as Nickelodeon’s own super hero. Now, Shout! Factory has worked with the Butch Hartman creation to ensure the entire first season will be available on DVD September 13th. Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Special Agent Oso to Playhouse Disney Tele on Videotron

Thanks to our friends at Astral, Playhouse Disney Tele is now large and in charge on Videotron – and for free! …at least right now. Regardless of the name, tons of new toons are flocking to the channel, including Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Special Agent Oso, and Jake and the Never Land Pirates, as well as Canadian productions such as Stella and Sam. Check out the full press release for details, then get to watchin’!

Marathon Media’s Totally Spies goes totally Facebook

Marathon Media's Totally Spies goes totally Facebook

Marathon Media has taken fans of Totally Spies on an all new adventure. The animation company recently synced up with Facebook (just like the billions of us!) to create a Real Player Game — not your typical “RPG”. The beta version of the game, developed by Ouat Entertainment, has been running on Facebook since September of 2010, and has already accumulated over 600,000 players hoping to following in the footsteps of Sam, Alex, and Clover. Despite the cartoon ending a string of new episodes several years back, the popularity of the spy adventures and W.O.O.H.P. (World Organization Of Human Protection) are clearly still going strong!

The Dating Guy is set to splash on Teletoon at Night

The Dating Guy is set to splash on Teletoon at Night

There are not that many cartoons on TV that we would categorize as strictly “adult” cartoons. Outside of the world of movies or anime, I mean toons with a regular schedule. Family Guy, the Simpsons, and South Park certainly have their moments. Comedy Central’s Drawn Together is likely the the best candidate for the role of “kids shouldn’t be watching this” type of cartoon. Well, Marblemedia’s Dating Guy kicks things up a notch, bringing Teletoon’s late night segment, Teletoon at Night (think Adult Swim on Cartoon Network) to a whole new level. The toon follows four 20 year olds; Mark, Woody, Sam, and VJ, as they explore the challenging world of dating and romance as it mixes into jobs, rent, and other daily struggles. Oh, and maybe there’s a jewel thief. And a werewolf. It happens!

First look at Cartoon Network’s presentation of Totally Spies The Movie

First look at Cartoon Network's presentation of Totally Spies The Movie

Marathon Media’s Totally Spies! franchise has done well for the company, garnering even more interest in the past few months when Marathon and Cartoon Network agreed to air Totally Spies in the US. Included in the deal was the Totally Spies movie, aptly named “Totally Spies: The Movie!” which originally aired in France last July. Marathon is also known for it’s series Monster Buster Club, Martin Mystery, and the rising star Gormiti, so they’re certainly no newbie for toons! The group, which stars three teenage girls (Sam, Clover, and Alex) is created in the super-hero girl team style of Sailor Moon, Winx Club, and others – both beautiful and powerful.
