Super Smash Bros Screens Show Off Zero Suit Samus

This is probably the sexiest you’re ever going to get with Nintendo and Samus Aran, but the latest Super Smash Bros. pic of the day from director Masahiro Sakurai features Metroid’s Samus Aran in her Zero Suit outfits from the ending of Metroid: Zero Mission. The screenies show off a couple of different options for both the Wii U and 3DS versions:

New DC Nation Short: Wonder Woman

Warner Bros. Animation and DC have just released a non-exclusive clip for a new DC Nation short written and directed by Robert Valley, titled “Wonder Woman.” As the title implies, it’s an animated short that focuses on the Amazon princess, with a few nifty twists. For starters, the invisible jet is now an invisible car, which she uses quite effectively as a weapon, instead of relying on it as a mere means of [invisible] transportation.

ShortsHD Pays Tribute to Bill Plympton

Premiere short film-centric TV network ShortsHD will be launching a special collection of animated shorts from legendary animator Bill Plympton, via their Animate! show, which kicks off on July 25 at 8 PM and 11 PM EST / 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. PST, repeating July 28 at 8 and 11 p.m. EST / 5 and 8 p.m. PST.

The Plympton special will feature the debut of the ShortsHD exclusive documentary, Bill Plympton Restores McCay’s The Flying House, which will feature interviews with Matthew Modine (of the Dark Knight Rises) and Plympton himself. The special will also follow Bill Plympton and his team while they are hard at work restoring on of the earliest examples of animation: Winsor McCay’s 1921 short The Flying House. Modine lends his voice to the restored film.

DreamWorks brings Shrek and Monsters Vs. Aliens shorts to Nintendo 3DS

Dreamworks Animation, and Nintendo have announced a series of shorts coming to the Nintendo 3DS’s Nintendo Video application. The two shorts will be based on Dreamworks wildly successful Shrek, and Monsters Vs. Aliens film series. The first short, “The Pig Who Cried Werewolf” is now available for free download. The second short, “Night of the Living Carrots” will be available sometime in the near future.
