The Food Wife sets Marge, Lisa, and Bart as The Three Mouthkateers

The Food Wife sets Marge, Lisa, and Bart as The Three Mouthkateers

491. Four Ninety-One! We’re just about 10 episodes away from the 500th Simpsons episode of all time, and the Fox classic has decided it’s time to start preparing the celebratory food with this Sunday’s episode, the Food Wife. On November 13th at 8pm, Marge, Lisa, and Bart become Foodies as the Simpsons take on the world of Food Network, forming their own review group known as “The Three Mouthkateers.” Oddest about their little group is the exclusion of the family’s star eater: Homer. For many of the 491 episodes, we’ve seen Homer devouring all types of food, from pizza to potato chips in space to sub sandwiches that are several months old. Surely he’d be a great addition to the group, no…?

Allen Gregory Falls Flat on its Face

Allen Gregory Falls Flat on its Face

It seems that even after being hyped as a show co-written by Jonah Hill (Megamind, Superbad), and after being given a slot in Fox’s highly successful Sunday night lineup (sharing the block with the likes of The Simpsons and Family Guy) Fox’s new animated series Allen Gregory seems unable to live up to expectations, with the titular character being too repulsing in a way that completely negates the fact that it was the writers’ intention, with the jokes and plot devices being too inappropriate even for most adults (such as Allen’s sexual attraction to his school teacher, who is already a senior citizen).

Sunday Animation Domination Comedy Block goes Halloween October 30th

FOX’s Sunday Animation Domination Comedy Block, which consists of The Simpsons, Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, and Allen Gregory, will celebrate Halloween this October 30th by airing all-new episodes that are frightfully funny and designed to scare some laughs out of you. And, let’s be honest, it’s really not Halloween without a whole bunch of animation. And candy. But mostly animation. …and candy.

Fox works a deal with The Simpsons, signing season 24 and 25

Fox works a deal with The Simpsons, signing season 24 and 25

For a moment there, we were worried. After 20+ seasons and nearing 500 episodes, it honestly wasn’t clear if the Simpsons was going to see a 24th season. A feud had developed between Fox and the cast behind-the-scenes, largely over money, that put the show’s future in jeopardy, despite being the longest running cartoon in history, and the longest running series (animated or not) on TV today. But now, just a few short days later, all is well in the Simpsons household, as the world of yellow, four-fingered folks has worked out their differences and will return to Fox for at least a 24th and 25th season. Since running as an interstitial on the Tracey Ullman Show since 1987, then getting its own spot in 1989, Matt Groening’s the Simpsons is now destined to continue it’s approach to 600 episodes – that is, after successfully passing the 500th this February.
