Archer's Fifth Season to Premiere on January 13

Fans of FX’s Archer will be glad to know that the fifth season of the hit animated action comedy series has been scheduled for a January 13, 2014 release at exacly 10 PM. The Adam Reed-created show first debuted on FX in September of 2009, and focuses on the eponymous suave, egotistical superspy and his colleagues at the International Secret Intelligence Service in New York.

Archer returns to FX

When the International Secret Intelligence Service (or, “ISIS”) is put to work, you know the world is in danger. Or, that’s at least how the FX Network bills it’s animated series, Archer, whose every episode revolves around espionage, reconnaissance, wiretapping, and dozens of ways for the agents to undermine and sabotage one another for personal gain. Starring master spy Sterling Archer, the Flash animated toon heads into its second season this week, bringing a spy style (spyle?) to the world of animation. Is it just us, or does the animation style have a distinctly “Grand Theft Auto” flair…?

CCI Entertainment and Galaxy Pop team for Get Ace

Australian animation fans, rejoice! CCI Entertainment and Galaxy Pop are teaming to co-produce a brand new cartoon series called Get Ace. The Galaxy Pop toon is set to start on Network Ten soon enough, spreading across the globe shortly after via CCI Entertainment. As we learned a few months back, this toon will follow the adventures of Ace McDougal, whose high-tech spy braces turn him from a regular student to a bit of a super hero! With a budget of about $10 million dollars to get the series going, Get Ace is reportedly one of the most expensive animated series ever produced in Australia.

FremantleMedia Enterprises teases a re-imagined Danger Mouse

FremantleMedia Enterprises teases a re-imagined Danger Mouse

Nearly 30 years ago, in 1981, Cosgrove Hall Films and Thames Television teamed to produce an animated version of James Bond, mixed with Danger Man, mixed with … well, a cartoon mouse. The result was the British super hero spy Danger Mouse, whose animated adventures ran for 89 episodes over nearly a dozen years in the United Kingdom, as well as becoming one of the first cartoons to hit Nickelodeon in the United States. As so much time has passed, the property’s current owner, FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME), has decided the world once again needs the heroic protection of DM and his allies Ernest Penfold, Colonel K, Agent 57, and Professor Heinrich Von Squawkencluck. Certainly, this also means bringing back the horror of villainy, such as Baron Silas Greenback, Nero, Stiletto Mafiosa, Leatherhead, Count Duckula, and Grovel. No word yet on if the updated vision will be in CG or not, but until we know for sure, enjoy the original intro

Galaxy Pop and Network Ten present Get Ace

Ace McDougal is a 12 year old nerd, living a regular nerd life, in his regular nerd town, with all the regular nerd pitfalls. He’s picked on, mistreated, is stuck with glasses, and now has to get braces, too. No worries, pal, some of us have been there, too. However, Ace has himself a bit of a huge advantage — instead of getting the braces some of us got, he’s accidentally fitted with a set of high-tech spy braces! The new cartoon series, produced by Galaxy pop, Network Ten, Screen Australia and Film Victoria, is already well into development, despite not being ready for TV until 2012. But as Australia’s most expensive cartoon production of all time, we’re expected good things from Get Ace. In fact, you could say we’re getting braced for them!
