Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps dances with Super RTL

Hit Entertainment and Super RTL have been busy over the past few months! Just recently the pair has announced the joint venture channel (a mixture of Disney and RTL) will own the rights to air over 80 episodes of the CG animated series Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps. The toon will make its debut in a few months, working with Bob the Builder and Tomas & Friends in the Toggolino program block. Created by Katharine Holabird and Helen Craig, Angelina Ballerina first appeared in a line of children’s books before making the move (dancing the steps?) to animation. With 20 books and nearly 100 episodes under her tutu, there doesn’t appear to be any stopping her!

Wallace & Gromit's World of Invention heads to France Television and Super RTL

If Aardman Rights has their say, they’ll make World of Invention the most popular Wallace & Gromit toon yet. They’re well on their way to doing so, penning deals with France Television and Super RTL in Germany to bring the live-action and CG animation hybrid series there. Commissioned by BBC One, Wallace and Gromit’s World of Inventions is a science show featuring Aardman’s famous claymation. Wallace will take a humorous look at the real-life contraptions, gadgets, inventors and inventions, with the silent help of Gromit. ToonBarn broke the story of Wallace & Gromit’s World of Invention last October, readying the toon fanbase for the upcoming Aardman hit. As if that weren’t enough, France Televisions also picks up the four short Wallace & Gromit films. Sweet deal!

Cake Entertainment brings Angelo Rules to Super RTL

Cake Entertainment and Super RTL have worked a deal together to bring the 3D animated series Angelo Rules to the German network. The comedy toon, produced by Cake and TeamTO, has already been acquired by Cartoon Network in most regions, though not in the US… yet! Based on the French book series Comment Faire Enrager, by Sylvie de Mathuisieulx and Sebastien Diologent, Angelo Rules features the twelve-year-old controlling his life through elaborate and comic strategies, based on his observations about human behavior. Thankfully, he doesn’t go it alone, and instead gets a little help from his friends Sherwood and Lola, to sweet-talk and work his way around his various adversaries.
