Warner Premiere brings The Dark Knight Returns to DVD

Heralded as the best graphic novel of all time, it appears as the The Dark Knight Returns is finally getting the Warner Premiere treatment. Rumors are running rampant across the intrawebs that Warner Bros. Animation will officially be converting the iconic DC Comics comic book to animation, adding to their long line of comic-to-DVD projects; All Star Superman, Superman: Doomsday, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Batman: Under the Red Hood, Justice League: The New Frontier, etc. The adaptation of Frank Miller’s masterpiece (who, himself, worked with Klaus Janson and Lynn Varley) has been teased before (in episodes of Batman: The Animated Series, The Batman, and most recently in Batman: The Brave and the Bold) but never before given it’s own home. If this holds true, WB will soon give us the DVD and Blu-ray we’ve been waiting for since their work began!

Marvel powers Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes with super voice talent

Since Disney took ownership of Marvel, their universe has not only expanded with superheroes, it’s exploded! This fall, the pair hope to showcase that collection in their latest animated adventure, Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The toon, set to air on Disney XD, features a wide cast of famous heroes and villains, but is also loaded with voice talent familiar with the comic book world. Amongst a large collection of stars, the toon will feature the sounds of Kevin Conroy (Batman from Batman: the Animated Series, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited), Clancy Brown (Lex Luthor from Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited), and Ron Perlman (Hellboy from the motion picture films as well as the animated toons). More voices, and guest stars, will be announced in the coming days, and ToonBarn will be there to share the info!
