The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! premieres October 20th

Iron Man is pretty cool. So’s Captain America. And the Hulk? He’s awesome. On their own, Marvel’s super heroes have saved the day countless times, defeating their own sets of villains on a regular basis. But what happens when the threat to Earth is too large for one of them to handle alone? That’s when they form their own super team: The Avengers. Much like Cartoon Network’s Justice League using DC Comics’ stable of heroes, Disney will be showcasing Marvel’s side this October 20th in the new series The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! For the premiere of the Marvel Animation toon, look for back-to-back episodes starting at 8:30pm on Disney XD. As if that news weren’t enough to get you pumped, the team has a series of “micro episodes” to hype everyone up for the big debut. Check out the first few, and the trailer, after the break!

This fall, Marvel and their new bestest pal Disney will showcase a collection of their greatest super heroes and villains as Disney XD welcomes The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The Marvel Animation and Film Roman toon, set to debut just after this summer, will feature a number of Marvel’s giants, including; Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, the Hulk, the Wasp, Absorbing Man, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, JARVIS, Wonder Man, Black Panther, the Masters of Evil, Loki, and Odin. Lucky fans attending Comic Con 2010 got an early look at the series, but they shouldn’t be alone! Thus, ToonBarn is offering you True Believers the same sneak peek teaser trailer. It wouldn’t be July 4th without America, and it couldn’t be America with out Captain America! We’re still a little more than a year away from hitting the July 22nd launch date of Marvel’s latest super hero film, Captain America: The First Avenger, but the news and rumors about the flick are coming in fast and furious! This time around, we’re ready to report that Tommy Lee Jones will be playing Colonel Phillips, the man who initially recruits Steve Rogers to join Project Rebirth – the very experiment that transformed Rogers into the Super Soldier Captain America. Jones joins the cast which already includes Chris Evans, as Cap, Hugo Weaving, Haley Atwell, Stanley Tucci, Sebastian Stan, Neal McDonough, and Dominic Cooper.

Iron Man 2 has had a great run in theaters, pulling in just under $300 million at the box office in it’s first 30 days. As the sequel to Marvel’s first Iron Man film, we now can see how the Disney owned company has developed a franchise. The second film also gave us a deeper glimpse into Tony Stark’s family life, with scenes of his father, Howard Stark, and how the elder Stark was a pivotal player in the hero world before there was an Iron Man. Playing on that idea, Marvel has cast Dominic Cooper to play an even younger version of Iron Man’s dad Howard Stark in the retro scenes of the upcoming Captain America film due out July 22nd, 2011, Captain America: The First Avenger. Marvel is creeping closer and closer to getting the entire universe of super heroes on film in the Avengers!

Marvel reveals the first look at Captain America: The First Avenger

As filming for the upcoming Captain America film gets underway, more and more bits of information are leaking through to the public. Just the other day, we got more casting information as Stanley Tucci jumps aboard the Paramount Pictures film, and now we get a sneak peek of Cap’s costume. The renders are just that – renders – but it’s a great way to envision how Chris Evans will appear in the upcoming Marvel and Disney adventure movie. Captain America: The First Avenger is set to hit theaters on July 22, 2011, but its not too early to start critiquing! What do you guys think about the suit? Did they do the shield justice?

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes

Disney and their new partners Marvel are teaming together to bring us a brand new animated series, The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The channel has ordered at least 52 episodes of the action adventure series, that will premiere later this yaer on Disney XD and DisneyXD.com. The stars will of course be the heroic icons you can easily recognize from other Marvel projects, including Iron Man, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Giant Man, and Wasp, together forming the elite super team, the Avengers. The series will feature a 20-part “micro-series” exploring the back-story of each character, going along with Marvel’s concept for films in the theater.
