The Pound Puppies

On March 6, Shout! Factory in collaboration with Hasbro Studios will release Pound Puppies: Homeward Pound in DVD format. You can join Lucky, Squirt, Niblet, and the rest of the gang as they find a cute little puppy for every person, and a person for every cute little puppy.

Pound Puppies: Homeward Pound collects 5 fur-filled episodes of the 2010 original series. It’s there that the animated series made famous in the 1980s was reborn for today’s audience, complete with a new look that merged the classic style of the original toon with the updated flair of the Michael Bay movies. Transformers Prime was introduced by a five part miniseries called Darkness Rising, foretelling the resurgence of the villainous Decepticon leader, Megatron. Now, Shout! Factory has beautifully stitched together the storyline into a single movie presentation, and is bringing it all home on DVD December 6th. Darkness Rising, just in time for the holidays!

The recent live action adaptation and cartoon remake, has given the current generation a chance to enjoy the franchise again, but there is something great about the original series that no modern remake can ever match, and that’s not nostalgia speaking.
