Battle Peter Pan’s Captain Hook in Disneyland Adventures

Battle Peter Pan's Captain Hook in Disneyland Adventures

At E3 2011, lucky fans in attendance got to see first hand just how cool Xbox 360’s Kinect will be, as a whole new line of games was being heavily promoted for the system. One such game, Disneyland Adventures, caught special attention from ToonBarn followers, due to the obvious links to animation. Alice in Wonderland 60th Anniversary Edition DVD and Blu-Ray review

Disney has a large stable of animated tales in it’s long history. There’s the Disney Princess flicks (Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Mulan), the Animal films (the Jungle Book, Tarzan, Lion King, 101 Dalmatians), and even a CG category (Toy Story, The Robinsons, UP). Then, there’s a film like Alice in Wonderland… which fits no category. In Disney’s original, animated retelling of the classic Lewis Carroll novel, The Mad Hatter has more resemblance to Winnie the Pooh’s Rabbit than Johnny Depp, and yet there’s all the magic and wonder captured some 60 years ago that Tim Burton revived in his new take. …right?

Alice in Wonderland in theaters today

Tim Burton’s dream-like take on the already-dream-like Alice in Wonderland hits theaters today, starring Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Crispin Glover, and Michael Sheen, amongst others. The world of the new “Alice” has drifted a long way from the Looking Glass, and the original 1951 animated Disney classic. Disney will bring modern take to both 3D and IMAX screens as well as regular theaters globally, starting today, March 5th. Anyone planning on going opening night?
