New The WotWots App for iPhone and iPad

New The WotWots App for iPhone and iPad

If you’re looking for a new iOS app to play around with, this week will be the perfect time to shell out your $0.99 as it marks the worldwide release of the new The WotWots app, Pocket SpottyWot.

The new app allows preschoolers to poke, tickle, and play around with SpottyWot while the character is in hoverchair. SpottyWot can also be coaxed into talking and spinning, and kids can even pet the character to calm him down and let him go to sleep, like a hoverchair-bound tamagotchi. Of course, it wouldn’t be worthy of the WotWot brand if there is no educational merit to the app, which is why Pocket SpottyWot also encourages preschoolers to learn more about animals in its Sneak-a-Peek viewfinder.

Pukeko Pictures delivers the WotWots season 2

What? WHAT?! No, no no… it’s “WotWot” as in “The WotWots!” The popular toon about SpottyWot and DottyWot, a pair of alien creatures, is now headed toward a second season, courtesy of Pukeko Pictures. Developed at Richard Taylor’s Weta Workshop, the WotWots launched in 2009, and have picked up steam ever since — not unlike the character’s steam-powered spaceship, that landed within a space zoo. So whether you’re watching on Canada’s Treehouse TV, or The Hub in the U.S., or in any one of the other 87 territories around the world, be sure to welcome in the brand new season later this year!

The WotWots debut on Treehouse tonight

Those of you with Treehouse can prepare for the debut of an all new animated series called the WotWots tonight at 6:15pm. Created by Weta Workshop and Pukeko Pictures, the WotWots launched globally in New Zealand on TVNZ last year, and now runs on both TV2 and TVNZ6 every day. Treehouse joins that group, along with ABC1 and ABC2 in Australia, Channel 5’s Milkshake in the UK, and MTV3 in Finland. Treehouse promises to show the new CG animated toon regularly, at 6:15 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6:15pm, Saturdays at 6:30pm, and Sundays at 1:40pm. The series focuses on two young aliens who land their spaceship in a zoo and spend days exploring the environment around them, wondering what (Wot?) they will be.
