Fans of Disney’s take on the Snow Queen fairy tale still can’t let it go (I had to get that in somewhere in the post,) and are looking for more content and experiences based on Frozen. With the animated short on the way, Frozen fans will get another goodie via a new major attraction being prepped at the Epcot theme park at Disney World in Florida.

Rumor: Disney World Building a Star Wars Theme Park?

There’s an exciting piece of rumor floating around on the Internet these days, that of the house of mouse doing some redecoration on their Florida Disney World, which will include a galactic-sized face lift in order to introduce a new Star Wars theme park.

Accodring to TheForce.Net, Disney’s plans include a restaurant modeled after the Mos Eisley Cantina, as well as an updated Star Tours and a whole bunch of environments/character meet-and-greets.

Mia and Me Added to Dutch Theme Park

Mia and Me fans will soon be able to experience their own adventures with Mia and her friends by venturing into the land of Centopia in real life. Or at least, as real as a theme park will let you experience. This is because m4e AG has recently given Dutch company Brand New Leisure b.v. the rights to integrate the Mia and Me franchise into their innovative entertainment park concept in Roermond, The Netherlands, which is close to the German Border.

DreamWorks Characters Invade Macao

Shrek, Po, Puss, Alex, and Hiccup will be making their way to the Cotai Strip Resorts in Macao, China as part of DreamWorks’ deal with Sands, China. The deal allows the latter to license the former’s characters for a “DreamWorks Experience” event, which includes various events such as parades, photo shoots, and themed areas based on popular DreamWorks franchises.

“All of us at DreamWorks Animation are excited to bring the DreamWorks Experience to this amazing integrated resort city,” said the studio’s Chief Executive Jeffrey Katzenberg.

DreamWorks Theme Parks Being Developed in Russia

DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. and REGIONS Group of Companies have recently signed a licensing agreement that will see the development of Europe’s largest indoor theme parks, as well as the first one to exclusively feature the franchises of DreamWorks Animation in major cities throughout Russia. The theme parks are scheduled to open in 2015, and will be located in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg. REGIONS Group of Companies will design, build and manage all properties.

Activision and Mind Candy have recently joined forces in order to release the new Moshi Monsters: Moshlings Theme Park game for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS. Based on Mind Candy’s Moshi Monsters property, Moshi Monsters: Moshlings Theme Park game is a direct follow up to the Moshling Zoo game and lets players explore a whole new Moshi universe as they work to build a theme park based on the cute little monsters.

Fans of Wallace & Gromit who are looking for a place to visit on their vacation would do well to include Blackpool, UK’s Pleasure Beach amusement park on their itinerary, since a new Wallace & Gromit-themed family ride is scheduled to open in the park in 2013.

The Wallace & Gromit ride is called “Thrill-O-Matic,” and will take fans on a journey through the worlds of popular W & G episodes such as A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers, A Matter of Loaf and Death, and A Close Shave. The ride is estimated to cost 5 million GPB (roughly $7.8 million US).

Thailand to get a Cartoon Network-themed Waterpark

People who are planning a trip to Asia should add Bang Saray (near Pattaya) off the east coast of Thailand to their itinerary, as Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific has announced plans to open the very first Cartoon Network-themed Waterpark in said area on 2013.

The resort will be called Cartoon Network Amazone, and will feature rides incorporating elements from Cartoon Network’s shows, such as Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, and The Amazing World of Gumball. All of the rides will be set against a lush amazon rainforest-like backdrop (hence the name Amazone).

Universal’s Spiderman Attraction Gets Visual Enhancements

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man attraction in Universal Orlando Resort is getting an animation upgrade. The web-crawler themed ride will soon feature all new 4K digital high definition animation, which is currently one of the highest HD resolutions available, as well as notable upgrades to the set, audio, and lighting systems. The music score will also be tweaked, and new 3-D “Spider-Vision” glasses will be used.
