Pixar Reveals Plans for Toy Story 4

Most fans of Pixar’s Toy Story franchise would assume that Toy Story 3 was the last movie in the franchise, as it managed to close the book on Woody and the gang’s life with Andy so beautifully that the TV specials no longer attempted to delve deep into their relationship with their new owner. However, John Lasseter has recently revealed that the studio is bringing back the iconic franchise to the big screens in June 16, 2017. While no specific plot details were revealed, Lassetter’s statement points to a continuation of the toys’ adventures after Andy, instead of a prequel.

Review: Toy Story of Terror

While most people thought that Toy Story 3 has already closed the pages on the franchise and no new yarns can be told unless it’s a prequel, Pixar continued releasing Toy Story TV specials that follow Woody and the rest of the gang as they grow accustomed to their new owner, Bonnie. The most recent one is Toy Story of Terror, which was released on ABC last October 16, 2013 and will be making its way to Blu-Ray and Digital (via Disney Movies Anywhere) on August 19th.

If the title isn’t a dead giveaway for you, Toy Story of Terror is intended as a Halloween special featuring Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Mr. Potato Head, and several other toys as they are stranded in a seedy motel in the middle of nowhere. In the motel, the Toy Story gang find themselves dealing with a mysterious abductor and the very real danger of being left behind by their new owner.

Toy Story of Terror Coming to Blu-Ray and DVD

We’re still a long way from this year’s Halloween festivities, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be ready to introduce some spookiness into your lives. Disney/Pixar knows this, which is why they’re going to launch the frightfully fun special Toy Story OF TERROR on Blu-Ray + Digital Copy, DVD, Digital HD, and Disney Movies Anywhere starting on August 19th.

Toy Story of TERROR brings back everyone’s favorite Toys after the events of Toy Story 3, with Buzz, Woody, and the gang being joined by their new friend Combat Carl for a spooky new tale full of mystery and humor.

New Toy Story Holiday Special Announced

Toy-Story-That-Time-Forgot

Fresh off the heels of Toy Story of Terror, which debuted with very strong ratings last October, a new special was announced for Toy Story. Scheduled for the holidays on ABC, the special will be titled Toy Story that Time Forgot and will feature a Christmas theme this time around.

In Toy Story That Time Forgot, the Toy Story gang once again find themselves in unfamiliar territory, only this time they find out that the coolest set of action figures are delusional and highly dangerous. If the gang ever wants to return to Bonnie’s room in one piece (if at all), they need to pin their hopes on Trixie the triceratops.

Toy Story That Time Forgot is produced by Galyn Susman and directed by Steve Purcell. The special is from Disney•Pixar. You can check out the sneak peek below:
