Wreck-It Ralph Arrives on 3D Blu-Ray Combo Pack This March

This coming March 5th, Disney will be releasing the hit videogame-themed CG blockbuster Wreck-It Ralph via an action adventure-packed 3D Blu-Ray Combo Pack. As expected of any Disney home video, the Wreck-It Ralph 3D Blu Ray Combo Pack will come with a whole host of bonus features that will take viewers even deeper into the world of videogames. The set will also come with over an hour’s worth of all new bonus material that’s never been seen before, such as deleted and alternate scenes. The pack will also come with the Academy Award-nominated theatrical short, Paperman.

Disney Releases Paperman Soundtrack

Walt Disney Records has just released the soundtrack for the award-winning animated short Paperman on digital format. The music was composed by Christophe Beck, whose past credits include The Muppets and The Hangover Part 1 and 2. The release of the soundtrack coincides with the announcement that the film has been included in the shortlist of films being considered for an Academy Award nomination.

With the East Coast still trying to recover from the destruction wrought by Hurricane Sandy, it would have been understandable if Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph failed to garner favorable box office numbers during its first weekend. However, as a testament to both the movie’s quality and for people’s willingness to watch a quality film (contrary to what a lot of critics say about the state of cinema vs. home video), the video-game themed CG feature still managed to climb to the number 1 spot of the domestic box office with $49.1 million from 3,752 theaters. The pic also set the record for biggest non-holiday opening for a Disney Animation film.
