New Toys Based on Nick's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

In support of Nickelodeon’s CG animated refresh of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a new line of toys based on Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s hit franchise will be made available at Toys R Us this coming summer.

The new Nick series will be the third time Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo and Donatello will be getting their own TV show; the first one was a 2D animated series exec produced by Fred Wolf, Eastman, and Laird, which ran in syndication from 1987 to 1996, followed by a live action series in 1997 and 1998, which didn’t fare well compared to its previous iteration. Nickelodeon managed to snag the license for the property back in 2009, leading to the new CGI series consisting of 26 episodes.

The new CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will feature a star studded voice cast that includes Jason Biggs as Leonardo, Sean Astin as Raphael, Greg Cipes and Michelangelo and Rob Paulsen as Donatello. In addition, Kevin Michael Richardson will star as Shredder, Mae Whitman will be the voice of April O’Neil, a young girl who befriends the lead characters and Hoon Lee as Master Splinter.
