Arc System Works has just shown the second official trailer for Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- at the recent Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia (SCEJA) press conference, which was held last September 9th, 2013.
According to series creator/artist/composer/voice of main character Sol Badguy Daisuke Ishiwatari, he is planning to use the latest installment in the Guilty Gear series of fighting games as a “fresh start” for the property, hoping to broaden their audience by attracting newcomers while retaining the things that made the Guilty Gear series so popular among gamers.
Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is notable for running on the Unreal Engine, which is commonly used for 3D games (as it is originally for a 3D FPS), while actually looking as 2D as its predecessors albeit with much higher resolution and with 3D panning cameras in some scenes. In fact, if you just look at the trailer, you can be forgiven for mistaking it as 2D animated FMV instead of in-game footage. You can check out the video below:
