Monster Hunter to Get its Own TV Anime Next Year

There’s no denying the popularity of Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise. With over 2 dozen games spanning 3 generations of consoles (along with all the merchandise they came with), an anime adaptation is not surprising. In fact, what’s surprising is that it took this long for a TV anime to materialize.

The announcement of a Monster Hunter TV anime was made during the recent Tokyo Game Show 2015 convention, with Capcom revealing that an anime adaptation will be made in tandem with the upcoming Monster Hunter Stories RPG for the Nintendo 3DS. The story is said to revolve around so-called “monster riders,” or hunters who tame monsters instead of making weapons and armors out of their corpses.
