We’ve previously shared the announcement that Total Drama is coming back and now we’ve possibly got a hint about what the sixth season of the series will be about. ToonBarn has learned the show is currently in production in Toronto, Canada under the name “Total Daycare Drama.” Yes, you read that right. Daycare.

Are the cast of Total Drama getting shrunken down for a Rugrats-esque adventure, or is this just a sneaky diversion tactic? You see, production titles are often work-in-progress and get changed before the final release. In fact, Total Daycare Drama might just be a slight of hand from the crew at Fresh TV. It’s not uncommon for production titles to be purposely misleading, to prevent sleuths from digging up information that shouldn’t be public yet. This year’s Power Rangers film, for example, was listed as “Shirt” during its production to throw off the scent of hardcore fans.

The idea of pint sized versions of the Total Drama stars isn’t exactly a new one. Fans have been imagining what the younger versions of the characters would look like for years. The image used for this post is just one of those thoughts brought to life by fan artist Kikaigaku.

While a lot of information for the next season is still up in the air, Fresh TV has been confirming some minor details on social media. Aftermath, which was a segment where the cast spoke about what just happened in the episode (modeled after reality show after shows) isn’t expected to come back. Neither is the long version of the theme song – a Cartoon Network requirement, as most of their productions now have a 20-second opening track. We’ve heard some rumblings about Total Drama season 6 being in development for Cartoon Network (and Teletoon), but that could be a public confirmation.

The Total Drama franchise just celebrated its 10th anniversary. The first entry, Island, originally debuted in Canada on Teletoon on July 8, 2007. The series went on hiatus in 2015 after 5 seasons and a spinoff totaling 146 episodes.

After the conclusion of spinoff Ridonculous Race in 2015, fans have been left wondering if they’d ever see anymore from the Total Drama series. Fret not animated reality fans, Total Drama season 6 is now in development, according to a Youtube video from Fresh TV’s Christine Thompson and Chris McLean voice actor Christian Potenza.

Not much else is known about the new season, other than some of the characters featured in the original, Total Drama Island, will get another chance.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Total Drama franchise, they’re parodies of popular reality shows like Survivor, Fear Factor and The Amazing Race. The twist is that because they’re animated, the high jinks get even goofier. It was a massive hit with viewers the world over.

The first season premiered on Teletoon in Canada back in 2007 and concluded in 2015 after five seasons, a spinoff and 146 episodes. Cartoon Network aired the series in the United States. Neither network has confirmed their involvement with the new season. The entire franchise has been created by the Canadian media company Fresh TV.

USA's Phineas and Ferb

Phineas and Ferb (USA)

Phineas and Ferb is an American animated television comedy-musical series. Originally broadcast as a preview on August 17, 2007, and officially premiered on February 1, 2008 on Disney Channel, the series follows Phineas Flynn and his English stepbrother Ferb Fletcher on summer vacation. Every day, the boys embark on some grand new project, which annoys their controlling sister, Candace, who frequently tries to reveal their shenanigans to the boys’ mother, Linda Flynn-Fletcher, and less frequently to their father, Lawrence Fletcher. The series follows a standard plot system; running gags occur every episode, and the B-Plot almost always features Perry the Platypus acting as a spy (“Agent P”) for the OWCA (Organization Without a Cool Acronym), to fight an evil scientist named Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz. However, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, or Doof as he refers to himself, feels the need to assert his evilness. Sometimes, other villains scoff at his level of evil. The two plots intersect at the end to erase all traces of the boys’ project just before Candace can show it to their mother. This usually leaves Candace very frustrated.

Creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh worked together on the Nickelodeon series Rocko’s Modern Life. The Creators also voice two of the main B-plot characters: Major Monogram and Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Phineas and Ferb was conceived after Povenmire sketched a triangular boy—the blueprint for the eponymous Phineas—in a restaurant. Povenmire and Marsh developed the series concept together and pitched to networks for 16 years before securing a run on Disney Channel.

The series is also known for its musical numbers, which have appeared in almost every episode since the first-season “Flop Starz”. Disney’s managers particularly enjoyed the episode’s song, “Gitchee, Gitchee Goo”, and requested that a song appear in each subsequent episode. The show’s creators write and record each number, and vary musical tempo depending on each song’s dramatic use. The music has earned the series a total of four Emmy nominations: in 2008 for the main title theme and for the song “I Ain’t Got Rhythm” from the episode “Dude, We’re Getting the Band Back Together”, and then in 2010 for the song “Come Home Perry” from the episode “Oh, There You Are, Perry” as well as one for its score. The series has also been popular with adults. Phineas and Ferb is currently on its third season.

The show follows the adventures of stepbrothers Phineas Flynn (voiced by Vincent Martella) and Ferb Fletcher (voiced by Thomas Sangster), who live in the fictional town of Danville, somewhere in the Tri-State area. Their older sister, Candace Flynn (voiced by Ashley Tisdale), is obsessed with two things throughout the show. One is “busting” Phineas and Ferb’s schemes and ideas, usually calling their mother to report the boys’ activities in an attempt to get them in trouble, but is never successful because of events that transpire in another subplot. Second is that she is obsessed with a boy named Jeremy (voiced by Mitchel Musso) that she wants to be her boyfriend. Meanwhile, the boys’ pet platypus, Perry, acts as a secret agent for an all-animal government organization called the O.W.C.A. (“Organization Without a Cool Acronym”), fighting Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz.

Much of the series’ humor relies on running gags used in every episode, with slight variation. For example, when Phineas has a new idea, he says, “Ferb, I know what we’re gonna do today!” Phineas and Ferb, along with other characters, then ask, “Hey, where’s Perry?”. In several episodes, an adult will ask Phineas if he is a little young to be performing some complex activities, to which he responds “Yes, yes I am.” When Perry is called in for a mission for the O.W.C.A., he uses various hidden passageways all over the house to enter his lair. Dr. Doofenshmirtz almost always, with a few exceptions, names his evil creations “-Inators”. (e.g., Shrink-inator, Giant Dog Biscuit-inator, and “Eradicate Rodney’s -Inator”-inator). Perry and Doofenshmirtz’s confrontations generally lead to the destruction or disappearance of whatever Phineas and Ferb are constructing or taking part in that day, leaving Candace shocked (“Bu-Bu-Bu-Bu-But…!”) and her mother unconvinced.

Aspects of the show’s humor are aimed at adults, including its frequent pop-cultural references. Co-creator Dan Povenmire, sought to create a show that was less raunchy than Family Guy—having previously worked on the show—but had the same reliance on comic timing, metahumor, humorous blank stares, wordplay and breaking the 4th wall. Povenmire describes the show as a combination of Family Guy and SpongeBob SquarePants. Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, the other co-creator, said the show was not created just for kids; he simply did not exclude them as an audience.

On August 25, 2011, the show was picked up for a fourth season on Disney Channel, a possible spin-off and feature film for the series. Disney Channel officially announced on November 9, 2011 that the fourth season was picked up with new episodes rolling out through 2014.

Characters

Phineas Flynn (voiced by Vincent Martella)- Like other characters, his age is not mentioned. Phineas, along with his stepbrother Ferb Fletcher, star in the A-Plot of every episode. The series concerns Phineas’s attempts to avoid boredom by finding something new to do every day of the summer vacation. He does this with his less-talkative stepbrother Ferb, and often with many other neighborhood children. He is known to be very selfless and energetic. Phineas has many catch phrases like “Oh, there you are, Perry” or “Hey, Ferb! I know what we’re going to do today!” and “Hey, where’s Perry?”.

Ferb Fletcher (voiced by Thomas Sangster) is Phineas’s green-haired, intelligent but laconic stepbrother from England. Ferb and his stepbrother, Phineas Flynn, spend their days during their summer vacation having fun. They are featured in every episode’s A-Plot constructing large scale inventions or taking part in other outlandish activities. Ferb, an engineering genius, allows Phineas to do most of the talking for the pair and is described as “more of a man of action” by Phineas, which makes him more of a plot device than a developed character. Ferb is more likely to sing than speak, but most often has a one-liner in the episodes. Ferb is named after a friend of the show’s creators who was an expert on tools and, at times, stayed rather silent.

Candace Flynn (voiced by Ashley Tisdale) is Phineas’s fifteen-year-old older sister and Ferb’s stepsister. She first appeared in the pilot episode along with the other main characters who star in the A-Plot in which she is usually the main antagonist. Candace does not approve of the inventions her brothers create, and during each episode she attempts to “bust her brothers” by showing their mom. Her best friend is Stacy Hirano. Candace also has an obvious crush on Jeremy Johnson, but she is oblivious to the fact he likes her back. She comes from a reconstituted family, featured in the show because the series’ creators considered it underused in children’s programming as well as Marsh’s past experiences in one.

Isabella Garcia-Shapiro (voiced by Alyson Stoner) is a Jewish Mexican girl. She is one of the brothers’ best friends and has an obvious crush on Phineas Flynn, of which he is unaware, though he has shown he cares for her from time to time. She is known for the catchphrase, “Whatcha doin’?” and is the leader of the Fireside Girls troop 46231. The troop often helps Phineas and Ferb in their projects. She is named after series creator Dan Povenmire’s oldest daughter.

Perry the Platypus (Agent P) (vocal effects by Dee Bradley Baker) is Phineas and Ferb’s pet platypus and first appeared along with a large portion of the main cast in the pilot episode “Rollercoaster.” Perry is featured as the star of the B-Plot, for all but one episode of the series, alongside his arch-nemesis, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz. He is a primarily silent character, with the only noises being the occasional rattling of his bill. Agent P gets his missions, which almost always involve Doofenshmirtz, from Major Monogram, and then proceeds to foil the nasty schemes that comes down to destroying the -Inators that were built by Doofenshmirtz.

Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz (voiced by Dan Povenmire) is a mad scientist appearing in all but one episode’s B-Plots thus far. He is the father to teenager Vanessa Doofenshmirtz and is the head of his own company, Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc. Depending on the episode, Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s main goal is to either destroy or rule the Tri-State Area which was suggested to him as a starting point before trying to take over the world. Routinely bumbling, incompetent, and forgetful, Doofenshmirtz’s plans, always involving various gadgets and inventions, have been thwarted by Perry the Platypus (Agent P). After most defeats, he shouts his catchphrase, “Curse you, Perry the Platypus!” His first invention as a child was simply called “Inator”, which led to his modern contraptions usually ending with the suffix of the same name.

Throughout the series, Doofenshmirtz’s flashbacks (of which are often told after Perry has been captured) explore his mentally abusive and lonely childhood growing up in the fictional village Gimmelshtump, Druelselstein. Before becoming an evil scientist, Doofenshmirtz was a bratwurst vender until being put out of business by the hot dog industry. Doofenshmirtz usually monologues and displays acts of cartoon-style physical violence towards his nemesis Perry, a skilled anthropomorphic platypus secret agent.

Canada's Total Drama

Total Drama (CANADA)

Total Drama is a Canadian animated reality television series which lampoons the conventions commonly found in reality television. The show and its sequel seasons are collectively referred to as the Total Drama series. It premiered on the Canadian cable television specialty channel, Teletoon on July 8, 2007 and on the American cable television channel, Cartoon Network, on June 5, 2008, with the characters consisting of the eponymous fictional reality series and the contestants therein. All of the contestants have distinct personalities that serve as a main plot point. The style of the series is similar to that of Survivor, Fear Factor, and The Amazing Race.

Seasons

There are currently four seasons and one upcoming season in the Total Drama series which are listed below. The winners listed are the original Canadian winners. An alternate winner in another country is basically the Canadian runner-up.

Total Drama Island is the first season of the series. It first premiered on Canada on July 8, 2007 and June 5, 2008 on the United States. This season takes place at Camp Wawanakwa, a fictional island located somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario where the season is based on a summer camp theme (although a contestant is eliminated at the end of every episode). Like the whole series, this season is a competition to see which of the 22 contestants will survive and last the longest. This is because the contestants are brutally tortured along the way through the intense challenges they are given. Challenges are sometimes based on other reality shows like Fear Factor. All of this is so the winner of the season (the one to last the longest on the island and not get eliminated), will win a small fortune of $100,000 and cheesy fame. This is the largest season in the entire series (as in eliminations and contestants).

Total Drama Action is the second season of the series. It premiered on Canada on January 11, 2009 and June 11 in the U.S. It is a sequel to the first season of the series, Total Drama Island. In here, fourteen characters from Total Drama Island returned: Gwen, Heather, Lindsay, Harold, Duncan, Owen, Leshawna, Trent, Geoff, Bridgette, Justin, DJ, Izzy, and Beth. However, Courtney returns later to the show due to a lawsuit. In this season, the contestants are taken to a brand new location: an old film lot in the center of Toronto, Ontario. The challenges are now based on movie genres, and the grand prize has been multipled by ten to be $1,000,000. Cody, Tyler, Katie, Sadie, Noah, Ezekiel, and Eva do not return to compete, but still appeared for the aftermath special, an extra show which was hosted by Geoff and Bridgette, the first two eliminated contestants.

Total Drama World Tour is the third season of the series. It premiered in 2010 all around the world and continued onto 2011 in Canada. In this season, seventeen contestants are taken on a trip around the world, and compete in cultural themed challenges of the countries or regions they visit. An added twist this season is that they are required to break spontaneously into song, or else be immediately eliminated (although this rule was not strongly enforced, and no one was eliminated for not singing anyway). Fifteen of the original characters from Total Drama Island returned: Owen, Izzy, Duncan, Courtney, Bridgette, Gwen, Cody, Harold, Noah, Lindsay, DJ, Heather, Leshawna, Ezekiel, and Tyler. Two new characters, Alejandro and Sierra, joined the cast at the beginning of this season. Additionally, a third new character, Blaineley, was brought on to compete past the halfway point of the season, although she didn’t last very long. Geoff, Eva, Justin, Beth, Trent, Katie, and Sadie did not return to compete, but have instead appeared for the aftermath. The prize for this season is, once again, $1,000,000.

Total Drama: Revenge of the Island is the fourth season of the series. The series’ extension was commissioned by Teletoon from the producers, Fresh TV Inc. It premiered on Canada and the U.S. in 2012. This season returns to Camp Wawanakwa (the original setting of the first season), but no contestants from previous seasons return. Instead, only a new set of cast compete, which are Anne Maria, B, Brick, Cameron, Dakota, Dawn, Jo, Lightning, Mike, Sam, Scott, Staci and Zoey. However, some characters from the original cast still have cameo appearances throughout the season. Due to the island being abandoned for the past two seasons, the island has now turned radioactive and causes of radiation and toxic waste is the main theme for this season. This season is only half the length of a regular season with 13 episodes and the cash prize is also again $1,000,000.

Voice actors

There are several voice actors who have voiced the characters in the Total Drama series. Christian Potenza played the role of host Chris McLean and said that the best part of the job was that his character could not be voted off the show.[14] Emilie-Claire Barlow plays Courtney on Total Drama Island and stated that Courtney was her favorite character that she had ever played.[15] Other voice actors include Julia Chantrey as Eva, Drew Nelson as Duncan, Megan Fahlenbock as Gwen, Stephanie Anne Mills as Lindsay and Katie, Adam Reid as Justin, Kristin Fairlie as Bridgette and Rachel Wilson as Heather. Most voice actors have only voiced one character, but some have voiced two. Peter Oldring and Clé Bennett are the only two voice actors who have voiced three characters. Brian Froud is the only voice actor to voice a contestant from both the original and the new cast, as every other voice actor only voices a character from one generation.

USA's Ben 10: Ultimate Alien

Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (USA)

Ben 10: Ultimate Alien is an American animated television series – the third incarnation of Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 franchise created by team “Man of Action” (a group consisting of Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, and Steven T. Seagle), and produced by Cartoon Network Studios.

The plot follows on from Ben 10: Alien Force; set one year after the events of the last series. The Omnitrix has been destroyed, and Ben must learn to master the secrets of the new Ultimatrix, a gauntlet-like version of the old Omnitrix that not only gives him access to all of his original powers and abilities, but also allows him to evolve his alien forms into even stronger and more powerful versions (called “ultimate forms”).

However, in the premiere episode, “Fame”, a young ten-year-old fan named Jimmy Jones deduces Ben’s secret identity and reveals it to the world. Ben becomes an overnight celebrity, hailed by kids as a hero but distrusted by most adults as a possible threat. With Gwen, Kevin, Julie, and Grandpa Max still at his side, Ben continues to battle alien threats to the galaxy, including finding five aliens that were attacked and kidnapped by an Osmosian villain named Aggregor. Their names were Bivalvan, Galapegus, P’andor, Andreas, and Ra’ad. After Aggregor captured and fused with all five aliens, he began searching for the Map of Infinity to go to the Forge of Creation and absorb the vastly limitless God/cosmic-like powers of Celestialsapiens.

Later Kevin becomes once again a main antagonist to the Ben 10 series after he is forced to absorb energy from the Ultimatrix and goes insane with tremendous energy and power, but is shown that he does still have a good human heart, and still does care, and that he has not gone completely evil. Kevin is eventually returned to normal and Aggregor’s actions are reversed.
The second season features more self-contained stories rather than employing an overall storyline, although a real storyline is developing with the appearance of the mysterious but dangerous Sir George and the extra-dimensional demon called “Diagon”.

After the defeat of Vilgax who absorbed the powers of Diagon to become more powerful, Azmuth appears to ask Ben to give his sword and the Ultimatrix back, giving Ben the new & improved version of the omnitrix.

Characters

The Good Guys:
Benjamin “Ben” Kirby Tennyson (Voiced by Yuri Lowenthal) – At sixteen years old, Ben now wields the immensely strong and powerful Ultimatrix. After his identity was revealed, children and teenagers adore him, while adults view him with suspicion. Due to his intense fame, he comes off as a little cocky and rude in the first few episodes. However, in this series, Ben is in places he has never been before; such as the “Forge of Creation”.

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Catherine Tennyson (Voiced by Ashley Johnson) – At sixteen years old, Gwen is still the level-headed one of the superpowered trio. Continuing to refine the use of both her natural Anodite and magical powers, which both appear to have greatly strengthened and magnified over the past year, Gwen is shown to be a valued member of the team. She also shows deep romantic affection and infatuation towards Kevin.

Kevin Ethan Levin (Voiced by Greg Cipes) – At seventeen years old, Kevin continues to be the arrogant and trouble-making member of the group. Despite questionable antics, Kevin excels far more often, proving to be a true and loyal friend now that he has learned from his past mistakes. After his Omnitrix mutation was cured, Kevin regained his original Osmosian powers and abilities to absorb all numerous types of energy and matter. He can copy any matter he absorbs into an armor. Moreover, learning from his experience, Kevin is also able to temporarily absorb extra mass to greatly strengthen and augment his powers and abilities even further and shapeshift his limbs into makeshift tools and weapons. He can also morph or fuse together the object he absorbed, and he is shown to be able to temporarily transform an object into any matter he has absorbed as long as he remains in contact with the object. He now owns a modified Plumber spaceship in addition to his car.

The Bad Guys:
Aggregor (Voiced by John DiMaggio) – A mysterious Osmosian who kidnapped five aliens (Bivalvan, Andreas, P’andor, Ra’ad, and Galapagus) from the Andromeda Galaxy, who then escaped from his ship to Earth. Now he is hunting them down one by one, intent on draining their powers to obtain what he calls “the ultimate prize” which eventually turns him into Ultimate Aggregor. Aggregor currently serves as the main antagonist in season 1, searching for the Map of Infinity which can give the user its power to travel anywhere in seventeen dimensions. In “The Forge of Creation” he is defeated by Kevin Levin who absorbs all of the abilities of the five aliens. It’s confirmed that Aggregor was arrested by the Plumbers after the two-part first season finale “Absolute Power”.

Diagon (Voiced by John DiMaggio) – An extradimensional squid-like alien who has enslaved 100 dimensions. He tried to enslave Earth and the universe at large but was sealed away by the first knight Sir George after he cut out the beast’s heart. In the episode “The Creature From Beyond”, after Forever Knight Sir Reginald drilled a small crack through the seal, The Diagon sends a Lucubra into Earth to enslave a few humans who of which formed the Flame Keeper’s Circle while under The Diagon’s influence.

Vilgax (Voiced by James Remar) – Vilgax returns as Ben’s main enemy again. He pretends to serve Diagon so that he can gain all of Diagon’s powers.

France's Totally Spies!

Totally Spies! (France)

Totally Spies! is an Anime-influenced television series produced by the French company Marathon Production. Production began in 2001; in 2008 the show ran its fifth season. A movie based on the show aired in France on July 22, 2009. In December 2011, it was announced that a sixth season is currently in production and is scheduled to air in 2013.

Totally Spies! features the adventures and missions of three teenage spies (Sam, Alex, and Clover) led by the founder and administrator of WOOHP (World Organization of Human Protection), Jerry.
WOOHP uses cutting-edge technology and highly skilled agents to fight crime and diffuse humanitarian crises all over the world. Its headquarters is located in Downtown Los Angeles. The building itself has been shown to be in the shape of a W.

Clover, Sam, and Alex are their top three superspies, frequently called in to solve the most difficult cases worldwide. When he needs them, Jerry can “WOOHP” them to his office at the press of a button from wherever they might be. This is usually done via vacuum tunnels that lead to the office, but they have also been blasted to their destination via rocket ship, teleported, picked right off the freeway via helicopter, and scooped up by a passing train. On missions, Jerry provides the spies with information, analyzes clues, and occasionally steps in to give them a hand.

In season three, Jerry added the computer system G.L.A.D.I.S. (Gadget Lending And Distributing Interactive System) to help him run his office but GLADIS tends to have a mind of her own. GLADIS has been met with a fair share of hostility from fans, which claim that because she now distributes the gadgets she tends to reduce Jerry to a subordinate role in WOOHP, even though he is the founder and administrator. After two seasons, GLADIS was written off the show in season five as having been deactivated due to its attitude.
W.O.O.H.P. is shown to actually have four branches, in America, Europe, Australia and Antarctica. It was revealed to have a sister organization: W.O.O.A.P., the World Organization of Animal Protection.

Characters

Samantha “Sam” – (Seasons 1–6, including the movie): Sam has long, wavy red hair. She has green eyes that match her spy outfit. She is the most intelligent, responsible, and practical of the girls; she is serious, worries a lot and is an athlete. She likes reading a good book along with being an outdoors kind of girl. Her favorite color is green and purple, according to episode “The Granny”. She can play the accordion (her ability was taken from, then returned to her in “Scam Camp, Much?”). Her mother’s name is Gabby (short for Gabrielle). Gabby is near identical to her daughter.

Clover – (Seasons 1–6, including the movie): She has medium-short, blonde hair with blue eyes. She wears a red catsuit. Clover is a boy-crazy, shopaholic, only slightly conceited, fashion fanatic. She always knows the latest trends and always makes sure she looks good. Mandy is her rival. Their constant fighting about the simplest things is a source of comic relief in the show. She goes through many boys in the show, and she cares deeply about fashion and designer paraphernalia. She greatly resembles her mother, Stella. Clover sometimes comes across as rude, but is always there for her friends.

Alexandra “Alex” – (Seasons 1–6, including the movie): Alex has short black hair styled in a bob. She is half white on her father’s side, and her mother appears to be Afro-hispanic. Alex’s spy outfit is yellow-orange. Despite her clumsiness when it comes to gadgets, Alex excels in athletics — particularly in soccer, her favorite sport. She is funny and always there for her friends. Though she is somewhat of a tomboy compared to Clover and Sam, Alex is just as eager when it comes to fashion and boys. She has a toy turtle named Ollie, who she identifies as her “bestest friend”. Her favorite color is yellow as it said a two-part episode adventure called, “Like, So Totally Not Spies”. Alex resembles her mother, Carmen, more than her father (Alex is the only character to have her father make an appearance on the show).

Gerald “Jerry” Lewis – (Seasons 1–6, including the movie): He is the founder and administrator of W.O.O.H.P. (World Organization of Human Protection). He is a middle-aged, very serious British gentleman. He finds means of transporting the girls to their headquarters (even if it upsets them – they get their vengeance on him in a set of episodes about their trip to France when he is transported), briefs them on their missions, distributes their gadgets, and provides mission support with information or direct involvement. He often annoys the girls with his attitude and constant missions but when in danger the girls are there to help. It is also known that he has trouble keeping his spy identity a secret from his nosy mother, who has only been mentioned a few times in the season. Sam, Clover and Alex once noted that they don’t listen to anyone but Jerry, and usually they don’t even listen to him, but they all love him.

G.L.A.D.I.S – (Seasons 3–4) Gadget Lending And Distribution Interactive System. She appears to be very proud of her title and will often refuse to carry out odd jobs, stating that they are “beneath her”. This is proved to be a constant source of irritation for both the girls and Jerry. She is later shown to develop her own personality, expressing her own opinions and deliberately disobeying Jerry’s orders. She is even shown to be capable of taking up hobbies, such as magic. She takes up a motherly role for the girls, is shown to defy orders and add additions of her own, if she feels that it is best for the girl’s safety. In season 5, G.L.A.D.I.S. is sent to a recycling facility (in actuality, she was written out of the series almost entirely due to fan complaints). G.L.A.D.I.S.’s design is an homage to Shirka, a character nearly identical in appearance from the classic French-Japanese animation, Ulysse 31.

Voices of:
(English version)
Katie Leigh as Alex (Seasons 1 and 2), Caitlin and Carmen
Katie Griffin as Alex (Seasons 3 to 6)

Toons These Days: Total Drama

Doggy D. Daschund is back, and he seems to be stranded in a raft somewhere. Instead of doing something else that will help him last longer – like biting chunks out of live sharks for sustenance, then riding the rest home – the grumpy little toon decided to rant about reality show-based cartoons instead, particularly Total Drama: Revenge of the Island.

One of the chief concerns Doggy has with the Total Drama franchise is what Doc McStuffins refers to as “Sequel-itis”, in which a franchise is spun off into sequel after sequel despite the original not actually having enough quality to warrant one.

Total Drama: Revenge of the Island is the fourth season of the Total Drama franchise, and is commissioned by Teletoon from its producers Fresh T.V. Inc. The series brings the show back to the first season’s setting, Camp Wawanakwa, with an entirely new cast of characters/contestants. The twist this time is that due to the island being unused for two seasons, it has been turned into a toxic nuclear waste dump.

LET THE MATCH BEGIN!

Here is an episode of Total Drama (Island Episode 16):

Zeke’s Pad (AUSTRALIA)

Zeke's Pad

Zeke’s Pad is an animated TV show produced by Bardel Entertainment and Leaping Lizard Productions. It is about the adventures of a 14-year old skateboarder and artist named Zeke who owns a magic electronic pad that brings life to anything he draws on it. Zeke Palmer is an imaginative artist and skateboarder who lives with a weird and wacky family. His Pad is an amazing electronic gadget that is a mobile phone, PDA, GPS, MP3 player and a drawing tablet all rolled into one. Zeke’s pad has a unique glitch: anything he draws comes to life. Being a creative artist that he is, Zeke is constantly drawing and making his drawings come to life. But he learns that for every action there is a reaction, and things don’t turn out the way he imagines.

Characters

Zeke (Ezekiel) Palmer (Voiced by Michael Adamthwaite): Zeke Palmer is a talented and creative 14 year-old artist/skateboarder. He follows his own path, however wiggly and weird it might become. Most importantly, Zeke is a risk taker. He is totally into making his ideas happen, but he is also inherently short sighted. The term action equals reaction is something he is blind to. Because of his over-enthusiasm about his own creative ideas, Zeke must deal with the consequences of his actions.

Jay (Jayden) Fritter (Voiced by Tim Hamaguchi): Jay is Zeke’s best friend. Jay’s computer knowledge and technical wizardry often help Zeke out of a jam. Jay is the only person who knows about the special power of Zeke’s Pad.

Rachel Palmer (Voiced by Chiara Zanni): She is Zeke’s annoying 13 year-old sister who is a drama queen, turning every moment into a gripping monologue, all for her love of the theatre.

Ike (Isacc) Palmer (Voiced by Trevor Devall): Zeke’s 17 year-old brother is a star athlete who is all about training. He tries one weird training and diet program after another to obtain peak physical fitness.

Ida Palmer (Voiced by Tabitha St. Germain): Zeke’s mom is a quick change artist with panache, whether she is in stripes refereeing a sibling squabble or leading a cleaning inspection in her white lab coat. Organization and order is the order of the day.

Alvin Palmer (Voiced by Trevor Devall): Zeke’s dad has two true loves, music and his wife Ida. He lives with his head in a musical cloud and depends on Ida to manage the rest.
Maxine Marx (Voiced by Tabitha St. Germain): The old adage “opposites attract” works well for Maxine and Zeke. Pretty, smart and super athletic, she is Zeke’s secret crush.

ToonOlympics Opening Ceremonies

LET THE MATCH BEGIN!

Italy's Huntik: Secrets & Seekers

Huntik: Secrets & Seekers (ITALY)

Huntik: Secrets & Seekers is an Italian-based, animated series which was created and directed by Iginio Straffi. Huntik is an action-adventure comedy about a group of Seekers traveling around the globe in search of ancient Amulets that can produce different types of monsters.

Long before our time, humanity fought against an evil of unimaginable power. The darkness was broken only by the Seekers, humans able to invoke legendary creatures -the Titans -into their own plane of existence. With the Titans executing their every order, the first Seekers fought against the dark forces of the underworld and against themselves. Centuries went by, and one by one, the Titans were hidden; some were buried following grueling battles, while others were merely forgotten as time passed. The magical and powerful creatures lie hidden and dormant in the most remote parts of the universe, waiting to be awoken by a new group of Seekers.

After centuries passed, the Seekers divided themselves into groups in order to find traces and clues of past and extinct populations in order to reveal the mystery of the Titans. One such division, The Huntik Foundation, travels in search of these answers: from the tip of South America to Europe; from North America to the African terrains. Only the most worthy of Seekers are able to invoke the Titans and benefit from their unbelievable powers. But there are those who plot in the shadows: a secret organization, led by the The Professor, is another division of Seekers and wants to possess the Titans’ powers for their own evil plans.

Characters

Lok Lambert is the main character of the Huntik television series. He is the son of legendary Seekers, Eathon and Sandra Lambert. He is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal during season 1 and Drew Aaron in season 2 in the English version. Alessio Nissolino provides his voice in the original Italian.

Sophie Casterwill, also known as Sophie Casterville in the Italian version, is the best friend and classmate of Lok Lambert. She particularly enjoys reading books, and has an excellent memory for myths and legends. As one of the last surviving noble of the Casterwill family, she has been raised from birth to be a Seeker. She is not actually part of The Huntik Foundation, but they have an alliance based on the need to fight evil. When talking gets nowhere, Sophie Casterwill uses powerful attack and defense magic along with Mighty Sabriel, an elegant Titan that favors speed over brawn.

As the top Operative of the Huntik Foundation, Dante Vale is the king of treasure hunters. With the mind of a hard-boiled detective, the body of an extreme sports athlete and the nerves of a cowboy gunslinger at High Noon, Dante leads the team of Lok Lambert, Sophie Casterwill, and Zhalia Moon. Along with his signature Titan, the powerful Caliban, Dante Vale has played an enormous role in several major events in the modern Seeker world.

Zhalia Moon is like an elegant lone wolf; she is a witty, yet reserved lady who had an ongoing bitterness with fellow hero Sophie Casterwill. Zhalia Moon was once a rival of Dante’s team, but she later decided to join them instead. An orphan, her troubled past is initially shrouded in mystery. She had a connection to The Organization, but she shows no sign of betraying our heroes. Additionally, her developing feelings for Dante Vale may be causing her to question her loyalties. Her signature titan is Gareon.

Den Fears is a boy that used to live in the orphanage where Zhalia Moon previously grew up. Den is forced to become part of the Bloodspiral; however he is a good Seeker and despite his hatred of bullies at the orphanage, does not bond to the Marauder that Tantras gave him. His brother, Harrison Fears, is an important Silent Soldier of the Bloodspiral Brotherhood. Both are marked with the Bloodspiral brand. Den escaped and, aided by the same Zhalia from the orphange, entered the Huntik Foundation after bonding to Vigilante. Den was sort of a replacement of Zhalia when she infiltrated the Bloodspiral Brotherhood, so the team could still be composed of four people.

Originally aired: January 3, 2009
