Or at least, it could have been delayed or turned out different from what we remember. In the short movie entitled “The Movie Vanishes”, Oren Jacob and Galyn Susman from Toy Story 2’s creative team tells the story of how they almost lost all the files for Toy Story 2 due to a simple mistake:
…or it turns out it was a series of simple mistakes. The video wasn’t clear who made the mistake of executing the rm* command, but that’s the first of the mistakes, with another one being the fact that that user was given super user access (or that they were using a root account while fiddling with the project). Another mistake is that there’s only one backup for something that’s possibly worth millions of dollars in revenue and manpower (because they would have had to re-do the entire Toy Story 2 movie from scratch, paying the salary of people who will do all of the work).
