Machinima has revealed the trailer for their upcoming web-series, Transformers: Titans Return. The 10 eleven-minute episode series stars Peter Cullen, Jason David Frank, Judd Nelson and a host of other actors as the story follows right where last year’s Transformers: Combiner Wars. It’ll debut exclusively on go90 in the United States and YouTube internationally.

Picking up right where the destruction of the Combiner Wars left off, Titans Return takes the action of the Prime Wars Trilogy to new ‘heights,’ and features return appearances from many fan-favorite Transformers characters as well as introduces new Autobots and Decepticons.

In the series, enormous Transformers called Titans are awakened and these massive characters bring massive problems. Trypticon, a gigantic lizard-like Transformer, rises to wreak havoc on Cybertron, while Windblade and a rag-tag team of Transformers must resurrect an ancient ally. Not all Transformers will survive, as beloved heroes are changed forever while others’ sparks are blown to oblivion. Like Combiner Wars, sophisticated storytelling reveals more than meets the eye for older audiences and kids of all ages when a sinister secret is discovered.

According to Machinima, Combiner Wars was viewed over 125 million times. Both series are CG animated in Japan by Tatsunoko Productions. F.J. DeSanto, who was the show runner on Combiner Wars, is back. A third series, Transformers: Power of the Primes, is currently in development.

If you missed out on the action of the first season, don’t worry. Hasbro is streaming the entirety of Combiner Wars on YouTube for free in most markets:

This isn’t the only new Transformers series headed our way. Hasbro and Boulder Media are currently working on Transformers: Cyberverse, which is scheduled to debut next year.

When Hasbro first announced the new Transformers: Cyberverse animated series, details were scarce. Thanks to a report from ComicBook.com, more details on the upcoming show have been revealed.

Cyberverse will focus on Bumblebee and Windblade as he attempts to regain his lost memories. The show has a more classic Transformers look, compared to more contemporary shows like Robots in Disguise and Prime. It even features the return of noses on the robots!

Here’s Hasbro’s official synopsis for the series:

Bumblebee is on a critical mission where lives are at stake! Only, he can’t remember what it is? It’s a good thing his best friend Windblade has found him to help repair his damaged memory chips. With each recovered memory, Bumblebee rediscovers his past adventures on Cybertron before coming to Earth. He relives fun moments when he played Cybertronian sports with his friends, and even tragic ones that would change his life. His past will shape him into becoming the hero we know today.

As each memory is repaired, another clue comes to light that will lead them both to complete their shared mission to save their friends and Earth… however, the Decepticons are hot on their heels and time is running out.

Transformers: Cyberverse is being produced by the Hasbro-owned Boulder Media for a release next year. Distribution partners haven’t been announced.

During the company’s 2017 Investor Day presentation, Hasbro confirmed a number of new animated Transformers productions in development with Boulder Media – the animation studio the toy giant purchased last year. This includes two brand new series as well as a new film aimed at various demographics. Some of these new productions are expected to launch as soon as next year.

Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy is an all-new 2D animated series aimed at preschoolers aged 3-5. The show will be a successor to Transformers: Rescue Bots and will be produced in-house at Boulder Media. However, the new toon will star a separate cast of young Autobots characters and will take place separately from the older show. Each episode is will run for 11 minutes, though it’s expected two episodes will be bundled together for television. Rescue Bots Academy is expected to drop sometime in 2019. To keep preschool Transformers going, Hasbro plans on releasing My Rescue Bots Adventures, a series of interactive web shorts. The first one is currently live on YouTube:

For kids 6-10, Hasbro plans on launching Transformers: Cyberverse in 2019. The new series will be available both online and on TV. Unlike prior series, Cyberverse will retell classic Transforemrs stories as well as create new ones, with a focus on character and mythology building. Each season is being branded as a chapter, with the second chapter expected to debut in 2019. Little is known about the series’ look, though the images included in the investor’s presentation were from the original 1980s Transformers cartoon. The series will replace the currently ongoing Transformers: Robots in Disguise and will be produced in-house at Boulder Media.

For older fans, Hasbro highlighted their Prime Wars web series trilogy produced in partnership with Machinima. The second season, Titans Return, is expected to launch this November. A third season, titled Power of the Primes, is currently in development for a 2018 release. Hasbro intends to continue producing content for the older Transformers fanbase.

But the Transformers fun doesn’t end on the small screen. Hasbro has confirmed that Boulder Media is currently developing a CG-animated Transformers theatrical film set in the same universe as the live action movies. It’ll be released by Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures in conjunction with Paramount. While no further details were confirmed, Boulder Media has put out job listings looking to hire employees for a CG film project based on an extremely well known Hasbro brand. The job listing expected the project to be finalized within the next two years. An animated film in the franchise was mentioned back in May and was described as a prequel detailing the mythical origin of the warring robots. Writers from Marvel’s Ant-Man films allegedly attached.

In addition to the three Transformers projects, Boulder Media is also working on various other Hasbro brands, like My Little Pony, Micronauts, Littlest Pet Shop and Stretch Armstrong. In the year since it was purchased by the toy company, the Irish animation studio has grown from being capable of handling 3 productions to 6, from 150 employees to 330, from one office to two. Hasbro hopes the studio can help them deliver one theatrical animated film every year by 2020. In addition to the Transformers project, some of those other film projects include Hanazuki and the aforementioned My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and Stretch Armstrong.

Hasbro and Machinima are creating a followup to last summer’s Combiner Wars web series. Transformers: Titans Return, the second part of the Prime Wars trilogy, is set to debut this November on go90 in the United States. It’ll run for 10 eleven-minute episodes. The production companies have shared the returning and new voices you can expect to hear in the series:

  • Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime (replacing Jon Bailey)
  • Judd Nelson as Rodimus Prime
  • Will Wheaton as Perceptor
  • Michael Dorn as Fortress Maximus

Bolded are new casting choices. Peter Cullen, who has voiced the Autobot leader Optimus in various incarnations of the franchise, including the original series and the ongoing live action films, replaces Jon Bailey from Combiner Wars. Judd Nelson returns to the role of Rodimus after having played the character in the 1986 Transformers movie and more recently in Transformers Animated.

Additionally, Titans Return will feature a number of new YouTube personalities. Game Theory’s Matthew Patrick, Seriously Strange’s Rob Dyke, and Chocolate Rain’s Tay Zonday will all have a part.

The new series picks up directly from where Combiner Wars left off. Gigantic Titan Transformers are awakened and cause massive havok on Cybertron. Windblade an her small team must attempt to revive a sleeping ally to confront the menacing Trypticon in a battle that’ll change them forever.

According to Machinima, Combiner Wars was viewed over 125 million times. The first series was CG animated in Japan by Tatsunoko Productions. It’s not currently known if they’ll return for Transformers: Titans Return. F.J. DeSanto, who was the show runner on Combiner Wars, is back. It’s not a secret that Hasbro’s Transformers franchise is hugely popular in China. The country has helped prop up the live action franchise’s sagging domestic box office take and unsurprisingly, they’ve been rewarded with a bevy of exclusives. It’s actually a surprise that this has taken so long. CCTV Animation and Hasbro Studios have announced Nezha and Transformers (哪吒与变形金刚), a brand new animated project set to debut sometime soon.

Unfortunately, it seems CCTV were so excited about this announcement that they forgot to share any details! Or, more likely, production is so early that they have nothing to share. No plot synopsis, no release window, no key art. Drats! However, we do know CCTV Animation and Hasbro have agreed upon IP ownership, production standards and an air date. To promote the announcement, Hasbro’s ‎Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President Stephen Davis and 10 other Hasbro employees visited the CCTV headquarters.

So, you probably know about the Transformers, but who is Nezha in Nezha and Transformers? He’s a character from one of China’s most well known fables, The Journey to the West. Nezha is usually depicted as a young boy, born to a mother after a 3 and a half year pregnancy. He has special powers that allow him to have three heads and six arms.

The Bejinger noticed some similarities between Nezha and the Transformers franchise:

  • Ressurection: Like Optimus Prime’s habit of refusing to stay dead, Nezha also came back to life after dying.
  • Transforming: There is more to meet the eye when considering Nezha, who will grow extra appendages to allow him to defeat his opponents.
  • Cool accessories: Nezha shows he is ready for merchandising like his toy commercial peers by being equipped with his own set of personalized gear: a fire-tipped spear, a universe ring (which is like a hula hoop he uses to fight), and wind fire wheels that would come in handy for those aerial chase scene set pieces.

Some have already reinterpreted Nezha as a robot before, such as Koei Tecmo in their Warriors Orochi video game series (see above).

This is the first time an animated Transformers show will be produced outside of North America and Japan. In 2013, Hasbro, Paramount and CCTV launched Transformers 4 Chinese Actors Talent Search Reality Show to find talent to star in cameos for the Transformers: Age of Extinction live action film.

Earlier this year, CCTV partnered up with Disney to launch Stitch & Ai. What are your thoughts on these Chinese takes on western properties? Are you excited for Nezha and Transformers? Leave a comment down below!

You didn’t really think Age of Extinction was to be the last of the franchise, right? Despite all the fan rage that Michael Bay inspires in every franchise he touches, there is no denying the fact that his hyper-realistic and bombastic takes on the Transformers franchise were box office successes, so no one’s really going to be surprised that there’s a fifth one. Oddly enough, it once again uses a title that implies finality – The Last Knight – but it would be unwise that this would be the last.

A teaser trailer was just released for the upcoming film, featuring some key scenes that reveal a number of details; Optimus Prime is gone, but wait, he’s back again, and he’s reluctantly fighting against the heroes? And there’s a planet threatening earth that most fans will rightfully assume to be Unicron, Wahlberg’s back! So’s Bumblebee and there’s a bunch of explodey stuff, as always:

Platinum Games has just released a new trailer for their upcoming Transformers G1-inspired brawler, Transformers: Devastation, and it may be the best one yet on account of the focus on combat. It’s not lengthy by any means, only clocking in at a mere 2+ minutes, but it contains a decent amount of gameplay footage. Worth noting is how fast the combat can be, even for Optimus Prime and Grimlock (both of whom are almost always portrayed as slower compared to smaller transformers.) The trailer also shows how the transformatiosn can become part of the combat, instead of being relegated to transportation.

Transformers: Devastation will be hitting the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC on October 6, 2015.

The previously posted batch of screenshots for Platinum Games’ Transformers: Devastation definitely shows how good the upcoming action brawler looks, but fans who have been burned by Rise of the Dark Spark (which looked hecka good but wasn’t that fun to play), may want to see the game in action first before being properly excited, so a new promo video has been released, giving fans a glimpse of how the game looks in motion:

Transformers: Devastation is helmed by Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance director Kenji Saito and the same folks behind Bayonetta 2, The Legend of Korra, and Vangquish. The game is slated for release on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC this fall.

Cartoon Network is getting ready to introduce the latest iteration of the animated Transformers franchise via Hasbro Studios’ brand new Transformers: Robots in Disguise, which is targeted towards young boys aged 6 to 11 and 9 to 14. This new installment in the long-running robot franchise is said to be written and directed by “top Hollywood talent,” and will be debuting on CN in the first quarter of 2015.

Transformers: Robots in Disguise follows Bumblebee as he now finds himself required to step up and lead the Autobots years after the events in Transformers Prime. Summoned by Optimus Prime to save the Earth from a new faction of Decepticons, the good ‘ol scout transformer must put his lighthearted mettle to the test and assemble a new rogue team of young Autobots.

Transformers: Robots in Disguise promises to retain the same brand of action that has defined the Transformers franchise throughout the years, while injecting a little bit of the kind of humor that fans have expected from Bumblebee.

This coming July 4, The Hub Network will be celebrating both the fourth of July and the 30th anniversary of the iconic Transformers franchise in a single marathon event, which kicks off with a Transformers Rescue Bots marathon at 11am to 4pm ET/8am to 1pm PT consisting of episodes from the show’s second season. Afterwards, fans of the franchise can relive the epic battles between the Autobots, the Decepticons, and Unicron with the airing of Transformers: The Animated Movie at 4pm ET/1pm PT and Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters Predacons Rising at 6pm ET/3pm PT.

The official listing:

11 a.m. – 4 p.m. ET: “Transformers Rescue Bots”

This animated series centers on a group of Autobots – Heatwave, Blades, Boulder and Chase – charged by Optimus Prime to protect and learn about humans on Griffin Rock, a technologically advanced island off the Eastern seaboard. Teamed with a human family of first responders including a firefighter, police chief, engineer and rescue pilot, they keep peace and safety in their new home. The series features an ensemble of voice talent including, LeVar Burton (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”), Lacey Chabert (“Party of Five”), Maurice LaMarche (“Futurama”), Jason Marsden (“Step by Step”) and Peter Cullen (“Transformers Prime”).

4–6 p.m. ET: “Transformers: The Animated Movie”

While the Autobots and Decepticons are locked in a vicious battle, a colossal new force enters the universe and threatens the existence of every Transformer, both good and evil, in its quest to seize the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. The movie features an all-star cast, including Orson Welles (“Citizen Kane”), Eric Idle (“Monty Python and the Holy Grail”), Leonard Nimoy (“Star Trek”), Peter Cullen (“Transformers Prime”), Judd Nelson (“The Breakfast Club”), Robert Stack (“The Untouchables”) and Lionel Stander (“Hart to Hart”).

6–7:30 p.m. ET: “Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Predacons Rising”

A resurrected Unicron has taken over the now empty body of Megatron to seek vengeance on the Autobots and, ultimately, the destruction of Cybertron. Meanwhile, this formidable enemy forces an unlikely alliance between the Autobots, Decepticons, Predaking and two new Predacons – a dragon-like new faction of TRANSFORMERS characters – who come together in an epic battle to help protect their newly restored planet. The movie stars the cast of “Transformers Prime,” including Will Friedle (“Boy Meets World”), Peter Cullen (“Transformers Prime”), Steve Blum (“Transformers Prime”), John Noble (“Fringe”), Peter Mensah (“300”), Frank Welker (“Scooby-Doo”) and Kevin Michael Richardson (“The Cleveland Show”).
