Will Optimus Prime Join the Decepticons?
Warning, Spoilers Ahead: When Season One of Transformers Prime ended, you get the feeling that the four part season finale did not really tie all loose ends, and was merely a set up for a future story arc. Supervising producer Duane Capizzi announced in an NYCC panel that they’re planning to follow through with a story of an amnesiac Optimus riding with the Decepticons.
Regarding the big reveal that Unicron is the Earth itself, executive producer Jeff Kline clarified that Unicron is not really the Earth, rather, the earth was an outer coating that formed around his floating form in space.
Capizzi also stated that Season 2 will also include a two-parter that will tackle the story of how Bumblebee lost his ability to speak. Asked on whether Bumblebee will be able to speak again, the crew admitted that they have no such plans, and cannot promise that they can return Bumblebee’s speaking voice.
Another thing that fans can expect, according to Capizzi, is the appearance of new Autobots and Decepticons, including ones that don’t necessarily transform into vehicles. The pre-existing characters may also get new abilities and upgrades.
The last few announcements include the possibility of the storyline leaving the earth for a few episodes, as well as confirmation that the Dinobots will make their appearance.
