Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy Debuts in January

According to a recent announcement, Discovery Family will be premiering a new preschool-targeted Transformers series on January 5, at 9am/8c. Titled Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy, the new series consists of 52 x 11 episodes and is produced by Hasbro Company’s Allspark Animation studio. The debut will consist of back to back episodes.

The new episodes of Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy will start streaming live on Discovery Family GO, followed by On Demand availability the following day. To herald the debut, Discovery Family GO will premiere a special two-part episode.

Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy follows instructors Heatwave the Fire-Bot, Chase the Police-Bot, Blades the Copter-Bot, and Boulder the Construction-Bot as they train a new batch of recruits. These new colorful bots include the young Hot Shot, Hoist, Whirl, Wedge and Medix, all of whom have the honor of being the first class in history to enroll in the Rescue Bots Academy. With encouragement from Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Grimlock, the new recruits learn the power of team building through exciting simulated and real-life rescue missions that highlight the importance of heroism, teamwork, and most importantly, friendship.

The two part premiere is titled “Recruits,” Optimus Prime decides to build a new team of first responders at the Rescue Bots Academy. However, the training proves to be too much for the young Hot Shot. The young bot soon learns that not every one will have an easy time at becoming a hero. In order to earn his place in the Rescue Bots Recruits team, Hot Shot must learn how to work with his teammates and save the day as one of Earth’s youngest heroes.

Stephen Davis (Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters, Transformers: Cyaberverse, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic) serves as exec producer for Allspark Animation, producing the series for Discovery Family.
