Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy gets Discovery Family sneak peek
Keeping true to their word on launching this year, Discovery Family has set December 8th as the day fans will get to first check out Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy. Ahead of its proper debut in 2019, the channel will air a sneak preview of the show this Saturday at 8AM (eastern).
A group of young Bots fresh from Cybertron (Hot Shot, Whirl, Medix, Hoist and Wedge), have the honor of being the first-ever class to enroll in Earth’s Rescue Bot Training Academy and learn how to become Earth heroes through hands-on experience.
The preschool oriented take on the Autobot lore will contain 52 eleven minute episodes. Rescue Bots Academy is produced by Hasbro Studios at their Boulder Media offices in Ireland. The show follows Transformers: Rescue Bots, which debuted in February 2012 on The Hub/Discovery Family. After four seasons and 104 episodes, the series ended in 2016. The new series will feature some of the same characters as the old one, but the voice actors will be replaced as audio production has moved to New York City, from the original’s home of Los Angeles.
The sneak peek comes just in time for the latest Transformers live-action film. Bumblebee, directed by Kubo and the Two Strings‘ Travis Knight, opens in theatres on December 21st.
