NYCC: Voltron 30th Anniversary Preview Panel

From days of long ago… September 10, 1984, to be precise. That was when Space Explorers Captured (Golion name: Escape from Slave Castle), the very first Voltron: Defender of the Universe episode, aired on US Television.

Now, we are approaching the 30th Anniversary of that premiere. In 2014, World Events Productions (WEP) plans to celebrate this momentous occasion by releasing a slew of wonderful new items for fans.

At New York Comic Con, ToonBarn captured the Voltron 30th Anniversary Preview Panel, so you can see what WEP plans to release next year. There will be Comics, a New Voltron Web Store, Limited Edition Voltron Prints, T-Shirts, Collectibles, Books, Fan Fiction, and a whole lot more. Panelists included Jeremy Corray (Moderator & Creative Director for World Events Productions), Bob Koplar (Vice President of World Events Productions), Chris Wofford (Owner of AcidFree Gallery), Johnnie Hamn (Griswold Interactive Design), Kevin McKeever (Marketing Director for Harmony Gold), Traci Todd (Senior Editor at Viz Media), Adam Staffaroni and Mike Holmes (Lion Forge Comics). Jeremy also brought Tara Scully and Talley Laflamme up to the stage to talk about their involvement with Voltron Fan Fiction.

We tried to capture everything, so we apologize if the screen is not steady from time to time.

Enjoy!

I am a Big Fan of all types of animation. Like a lot of things, the cream always rises to the top. My favorites have included Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels, anything Pixar, Phineas and Ferb, Voltron Legendary Defender, and the DC/WB Animated Films. I have a lot of Old School favorites as well, such as Star Blazers, Voltron, Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, and Scooby Doo.
