ToonBarn visits Voltron Headquarters: Jeremy Corray Interview, Part 2

Voltron Week at ToonBarn - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of Voltron Week!

Before we go any further, we need to remind you that World Events Productions has allowed us to give away 3 Voltron Prize Packs to 3 lucky winners. In order to be eligible to win, you must be a ToonBarn member and you must comment at the end of one of the Voltron Week stories or on one of the YouTube Interview Videos. If you are not signed up for ToonBarn, you can sign up HERE. Winners will be announced on Friday’s story.

In the interviews that we have done with Jeremy Corray, including the one in this story below, you can see some of the Classic Voltron toys and collectibles that are literally scattered all about the offices at World Events Productions in St. Louis. The person responsible for bringing all this old merchandise back to the home offices of World Events Productions was Tiffany Ilardi. Back in 2000, she went on eBay and bought hundreds of the classic Voltron toys and merchandise. She is responsible for cataloguing everything that ever had the Voltron name on it. That is quite a monumental task!

Today, you can buy Voltron merchandise directly from Voltron.com here at The Voltron Store. They have everything from shirts, CDs, and bumper stickers, to Comic Books, DVDs, and even Boxer Shorts that have the words, “Form Blazing Sword!” on the front. And, as you will see in today’s video, the Voltron Figurines are available from Mattel’s Collectible site, Matty Collector.

I am a Big Fan of all types of animation. Like a lot of things, the cream always rises to the top. My favorites have included Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels, anything Pixar, Phineas and Ferb, Voltron Legendary Defender, and the DC/WB Animated Films. I have a lot of Old School favorites as well, such as Star Blazers, Voltron, Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, and Scooby Doo.

When are we going to launch Voltron Force toys? Good question, my money is on some where around fall or Christmas time. Even Jeremy say there not sure when but looking at that scene you just show VF lions looks like clay modules – Awesome. I would love to get Matty’s Voltron collections but I like to wait and get new version of Voltron Force. I’m on ” BUDGET “!!!!

Brandon doing great job on Voltron Comics especially Voltron: Year One with Craig Cermark doing the illustrated. I’m looking forward to see the new artist of Voltron #7 and whole new storyline from Brandon, looking good.
There’s Voltron Force books , I got both vol 1 and vol 2. I’m really enjoying both books, I was surprise when you have different artists doing 2 different books. I’m definitely going to pick up 3rd and 4th book ” Rise of the Beast King “, can’t wait.

I hope Atlas really really take their time to work on the script for this live – action film, I heard and saw the trailer for The Dark Knight Rises is an awesome movie so I hope they won’t mess up Voltron

Voltron the Musical, I can see that. If they have Spider-Man on Broadway, WHY – NOT…

I love Robotech, I grew up with both Voltron, Robotech and Transformers in the 80’s, I was 8 or 9 yrs old when all of them came out. Ooh what a happy time that was…

I keep waiting to hear when the Voltron Force toys will be released too. Would love the Mattle version of the original Voltron but will wait and see what other products will be released.
I always thought it was an intern reading the fans reply on the Voltron force page on facebook and twitter, but to find out it was Jeremy reading the post and listening to the fans was great! It makes me happy that my comments were read and taken to heart from the supervising producer of Voltron Force. I like the comment Jeremy said during the interview that they are like a mom and pop robot business listening to their dedicated fan base!

I would love to have Voltron Force toys with the 5 different versions of Voltron. I would buy all of them, just like I’m buying the giant Voltron from MattyCollector. 3 down, 2 to go. Keep up the good work! Voltron forever!
