As part of the ongoing Voltron themed festivities at the 2017 San Diego Comic Con, DreamWorks held their panel on Voltron Legenday Defender. In it, the crew behind the series revealed that A.J. Perhaps most exciting, is that they’ve announced when you should expect to see new episodes of the series on Netflix.

August 4th. That’s when the seven episodes consisting of Voltron Legendary Defender season 3 is expected to launch. In October, another new batch of episodes will go live.

Attendees of the panel actually got to see the first episode, but since you’re reading this you probably weren’t there. For those of us not in San Diego, DreamWorks has started streaming a new trailer for season 3, giving us a taste of what’s to come:

DreamWorks also provided this little tease of the major plot points behind the new episodes:

The success of Zarkon’s defeat comes at a price: Shiro has vanished. With the ascension of the mysterious Prince Lotor and without a pilot for the black lion, the team must somehow find the strength to keep fighting. But how can they defend the universe without Voltron?

If you need some more lion action right now, you could always check out Voltron ’84, a selection of episodes from the original series by the crew of Legendary Defender that’s currently on Netflix.
