New Winnie The Pooh Series Scheduled for January 2012
The Disney Channel has recently approved a new series featuring A.A. Milne’s famous creation, the cute stuffed bear, Winnie the Pooh. Commissioned by Disney’s EMA division and produced by Welsh indie Boomerang and Italian shop Maga, the new series will be entitled Tales of Friendship with Winnie the Pooh.
The series will feature live action interspersed with book-style motion animation, and is scheduled to premiere on Disney Junior channels on January 2012 in 21 countries. A series of Winnie the Pooh books will also be released in support of the new project. VP of Disney Junior EMEA and original programming and development, Beth Gardiner, will spearhead the series’ production process while Tracy Bowerman has been appointed as series producer. The series director will be Dirk Campbell.
