Exclusive SDCC Interview with Troy Baker & Brandon Vietti for Young Justice: Outsiders

Troy Baker (Geo-Force/Brion Markov) has joined the cast of Young Justice for Season 3 (Outsiders), and in this interview with Troy and Young Justice Producer Brandon Vietti at SDCC, we find out what it was like for Troy, who is a true fan, to then become a new character in this world. Brandon also tells us how much of Young Justice: Outsiders is already completed, and that fans need to join the DC Universe digital service to get it.

This ToonBarn interview was conducted by Head Writer Marc Morrell, who has interviewed both Brandon and Troy many times, and is also thrilled to be able to watch Young Justice: Outsiders on the new DC Universe digital service, coming soon. In “Young Justice: Outsiders,” the teenage Super Heroes of the DC Universe come of age in an animated world of super-powers, Super-Villains and super secrets. In the highly anticipated new third season, the team faces its greatest challenge yet as it takes on meta-human trafficking and the terrifying threat it creates for a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy.

Outsiders, the third season of Young Justice, centers around the plot of meta-human trafficking that occurs in Markovia. Princess Tara is kidnapped, along with many others. Nightwing recruits Artemis and Superboy to help investigate, and they eventually join up with some new heroes — like Brion Markov, who will eventually become Geo-Force.

Brion (pronounced bree-OHN), hopefully, will learn to harness the ability to control gravity and Earth’s terrain, as Brandon eluded to in the comics in our interview.

Marc Morrell

I am a Big Fan of all types of animation. Like a lot of things, the cream always rises to the top. My favorites have included Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels, anything Pixar, Phineas and Ferb, Voltron Legendary Defender, and the DC/WB Animated Films. I have a lot of Old School favorites as well, such as Star Blazers, Voltron, Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, and Scooby Doo.
