Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie gets remastered theatrical screenings
4K Media and Fathom Events are bringing 2004’s Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: The Pyramid of Light to U.S. theaters through a new remastered release next month. The film will play in nearly 800 locations across the country on Sunday, March 11 at 12:55 p.m. and Monday, March 12 at 7:00 p.m. (all local times).
In addition to the film, the screenings (which will be in English) will include a sneak peek of the first episode of the sixth Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series, Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, in its English-dubbed premiere. The show is set to launch later this year.
“Anime titles continue to draw passionate audiences to cinemas nationwide,” said Fathom Events VP of Programming Kymberli Frueh. “We are proud to partner for the first time with 4K Media to bring Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie back to big screens across the country for a new era of fans to discover and enjoy.”
In Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie, a heroic Yugi squares off against arch rival Kaiba in an adventure even more dangerous when the imaginary monsters in their playing cards become ferociously real… and when an old evil enters the fray. Who will win this ultimate smackdown? Whether you’re a novice Duelist or a professional, you’ll want to watch and find out!
Ticket for the screenings can be purchased here.
The most recent theatrical Yu-Gi-Oh! feature film, The Dark Side of Dimensions, was released in select cinemas and on home video in North America last year.
