Ambience Launches Adventures of Figaro Pho

Australia production outfit Ambience Entertainment is celebrating the launch of their short format toon The Adventures of Figaro Pho, which has recently premiered on Australia’s ABC3.

Created and directed by award-winning illustrator Luke Jurevicius, Figaro Pho focuses on the excessively paranoid titular character, as he takes viewers on a surreal, comedic ide through an endless list of phobias in his goth-inspired, tim-burtonesque world. The Adventures of Figaro Pho boasts of high quality CGI that brings the lovable, phobia-ridden character and his robotic canine best friend Rivet to life. The show first debuted in 2008 as a series of 1 minute shorts that aired on ABC, which earned two AFI awards and three kidscreen awards honors.

Nintendo DS and 3DS Gets New Moshi Monsters Game

Activision and Mind Candy have recently joined forces in order to release the new Moshi Monsters: Moshlings Theme Park game for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS. Based on Mind Candy’s Moshi Monsters property, Moshi Monsters: Moshlings Theme Park game is a direct follow up to the Moshling Zoo game and lets players explore a whole new Moshi universe as they work to build a theme park based on the cute little monsters.

Dream Defenders Lands in North America

Tiny Island Productions’ Dream Defenders, which is Singapore’s first ever 3D stereoscopic animated series, has just landed in the U.S. courtesy of 3nt, a US-based 3D TV Channel that is a joint venture between Discover, IMAX, and SONY. Tiny Island further noted that they have plans to bring the franchise to games and different platforms, with a spin-off already available on the Nintendo 3D US website for download.

Almost Naked Animals Gets a Publishing Deal

Lisle International has recently signed a new publishing deal with Hachette Children’s Books for 9 story Entertainment’s hit animated comedy series Almost Naked Animals. Under the publishing deal, Hachette’s sub division Hodder Children’s Books will be developing a full publishing program outside of magazines for the UK and CommonWealth territories outside of Canada.
