Flashpoint Paradox Week: Andrea Romano Interview

ToonBarn's Marc Morrell interviews Casting and Voice Director, Andrea Romano, at SDCC 2013, for Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox

From all the people we have spoken to at San Diego Comic-Con, particularly those involved in the animation industry, the most popular name on everyone’s lips is Andrea Romano. When a voice actor has someone to thank, it’s the “brilliant” Casting and Voice Director, Andrea Romano. When it comes to the amount of praise that is bestowed upon any one person, Andrea Romano receives the most. She didn’t pay these people to say these things, and she doesn’t ever ask for praise. She is simply the most genuine, most respected, most gifted Voice Director that the industry has ever seen. I want to work for her, simply to watch her work her magic, and I am far from being a voice actor. Yes, my friends, she is THAT good.

The Simpsons Being Offered for Cable Syndication

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Twentieth Television will be offering off-network syndicated repeats of The Simpsons to cable networks in the future, after the long-running animated comedy sitcom has aired its 25th (and last) season this fall. This will open up the possibility of the show finding new home on networks such as FX or even the Turner-owned TBS, which has recently picked up American Dad and will be airing it alongside Family Guy next season.

New DC Nation Clip – Tales of Metropolis: Lois

Warner Bros. Animation has just released a non-exclusive clip for the new DC Nation short titled “Tales of Metropolis: Lois,” which is a comedic take on one of Metropolis’ premiere journalists, Lois Lane.

In the clip, Lois Lane tries her best to interview and pry some confidential information out of Batman. Of course, everybody knows that THE Batman has no intention of revealing the slightest bit of information about himself, especially if it doesn’t serve a purpose other than pad another journalist’s resume. Lois, on the other hand, proves just how persistent she can be. You can watch the clip below:

Flashpoint Paradox Week: Cary Elwes Interview

Cary Elwes talks to ToonBarn about Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox at SDCC 2013

Cary Elwes plays Aquaman in Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, but it’s not the Aquaman who we grew up watching. This Aquaman, along with his fellow Atlanteans, is in the middle of a war with Wonder Woman’s Amazons. A war that Aquaman declared himself, due to circumstances that we don’t want to get into because it may spoil some of the story. This Aquaman is always strong, but you can tell he is conflicted in some way, although he keeps his feelings hidden deep down.

Flashpoint Paradox Week: C. Thomas Howell Interview

C. Thomas Howell talks about his role as Professor Zoom on Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox at SDCC 2013

They call him Professor Zoom, the Reverse Flash, and Eobard Thawne. He is the nemesis of The Flash/Barry Allen because he also has the ability to utilize the Speed Force. He is also the main supervillain in Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. And he is played by a rookie to the animation field. But, certainly not a rookie actor. Very few actors have as many titles in movies and TV attached to their name (160) as C. Thomas Howell.

If you’ve been paying attention to movies and TV over the last 30 years, you’ve seen C. Thomas Howell in everything from The Outsiders, Red Dawn and Soul Man, to his more recent roles on The Amazing Spider-Man, Southland, and Criminal Minds. My favorite was The Hitcher. That movie scared the crap out of me.

Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox

Well, the day has finally arrived! For those of you who weren’t able to go to San Diego Comic-Con, TODAY is the first time Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox has ever been available on DVD or Blu-Ray. I highly recommend Blu-Ray, if you weren’t already leaning in that direction. Some of you may have already downloaded the movie from iTunes, when it became available on the digital format on July 19th (or 20th, depending on your timezone).
