New Action-Oriented Videos from CG Captain Harlock Film

A few days ago, we posted the first ever trailer for the upcoming CG animated film adaptation of Space Pirate Captain Harlock. And while said trailer did a good job of providing a glimpse of the space opera, it was a little bit lacking in action. Thankfully, Cinema Today has posted two more video clips designed to promote the film, this time around focusing more on the action scenes – we’re talking large scale space battles featuring the franchise’s trademark space skirmishes. You can check out the videos below:

Tinkerbell Drops By on Jake and the Never Land Pirates

One of the most iconic denizens of Never Land, second only to Peter Pan and probly on par with Captain Hook, is the diminutive pixie named Tinkerbell. Without her, we probably wouldn’t see many of the characters that we have come to know and love (mainly because some characters wouldn’t be able to fly if it were not for her). This coming Sunday, September 29, 6 PM on the Disney Channel and 9 PM on Disney Junior,Tinker Bell will be visiting Jake and the Never Land Pirates via the episode “Never Land Rescue,” in which she will help Jake go on a heroic mission in order to save Never Land from being erased from existence.

Review of Rocko’s Modern Life: The Complete Series DVD

Rocko’s Modern Life, the beloved Nickelodeon series from the 90’s, will see the release of the fourth and final season on DVD from Shout! Factory on October 15th.  This comes over two years after the release of the first season on DVD, so fans collecting the individual sets will be happy to complete their collections by adding The Final Season DVD this fall.

Several months ago I purchased Rocko’s Modern Life: The Complete Series DVD set.  Yes, The Complete Series set was made available before the fourth season DVD, which is somewhat unusual and caused fan uproar, but that’s another topic. Having a brother ten years younger than I, we often watched the show together. In fact, had it not been for him I would have missed a lot of the 90’s Nickelodeon cartoons. But my younger brother loved them and we watched many of them regularly, including Rocko’s Modern Life. Even then I could tell that Rocko was a strange cartoon. There really wasn’t a point to it. It was just wacky, crazy fun, which is what made it great. It somewhat reminded me of Ren & Stimpy, which had been popular around that time.

Teen Titans Go!: Artful Dodgers Review

teen titans artful dodgers

A brand new episode of Teen Titans Go!, titled “Artful Dodgers,” has aired on Cartoon Network recently. For those not in the know, Teen Titans Go! is a new series that was created by Warner Bros. for Cartoon Network. It’s based on a DC property but isn’t part of the DC Nation Programming block (new episodes air during Tuesday Nights, instead of Saturday mornings)

Teen Titans Go! is a reboot of the 2003 original series Teen Titans, with a few notable differences. One of the major changes is the different animation style, but that’s not such a bad thing as it fits in perfectly with the show’s new more comedic direction, as opposed to the original’s emphasis on action. I would say they changed it because they wanted to do something different. They also got the old voice actors back for the Titans and the villains, which is great.

New Screenshots for J-Stars Victory VS.

The shonen-themed crosssover fighting game J-Stars Victory VS. has just released a new batch of screenshots, this time featuring Rurouni Kenshin’s Himura Kenshin doing a number on Bleach’s Ichigo Kurosaki and Dragonball’s Son Goku. One screenshot in particular shows Kenshin using Ryu Sou Sen on the poor Saiyan (not that it will have any effect on Goku, if it were a real fight between the fictional characters).
