DreamWorks Animation Launches DreamWorks Shorts

DreamWorks Animation Film Group has just announced the formation of a new program called DreamWorks Shorts, which aims to give artists a launchpad and honing ground for their storytelling and creative skills, while also giving birth to new technologies and fostering collaborations between the future stars of the industry.

DreamWorks Shorts’ first animated short film is titled Bird Karma. This short is directed by William Salazar, and will make its theatrical debut in front of DreamWorks’ Animation’s screening of The Boss Baby in Japan this spring, followed by a tour of selected festivals in the US and all over the globe.

The plan is for DreamWorks Animation to release two of these short films a year, utilizing their feature releases as a launch pad for the animated short films.
