Gormitti Proves to be a Success On and Off the Small Screen
Giochi Preziosi and Planeta Junior have recently announced that their Gormiti toys achieved a great success, ever since it first launched in late 2018. During the period of October to December 2018, the Gormiti brand became the #1 brand choice in Action Figures & Accessories category. It is the property that best performed in terms of turnover during Christmas, and managed to snag best new property in the category. The brand also saw five of the ten best-selling products, with Gormiti Tower of the Elements at the very TOP of this list.
Regarding consumer products, Gormiti’s licensing program is almost completely covered (90% of categories secured at the moment), with 18 licensees on board such as Panini, Ravensburger, Suncity, Mondadori, Preziosi Food, Sodico and Playpress among many others. The official app for the series is a hit among children, with more than 220.000 downloads and 5 million battles played on Gorm’s field.
This success follows the great performance of the series in Rai Yoyo and Rai Gulp. 300.000 spectators watched the show on its premiere in October and keeps succeeding on every slot since the release day (with a peak of 600.000 spectators in one day considering the two channels together). RAI Gulp broadcasts Gormiti every day at 7.45 am, 3.35 pm and 6 pm; RAI Yoyo from Sunday to Friday at 8.45 pm.
For the uninitiated, Gormiti’s story revolves around four kids who accidentally discover the hidden One Tower, which made their dreams of heroic adventures a reality. Along with the One Tower, they also came across the Elemental Bracers, which are magical artefacts that gave them the power to summon the legendary Gormiti. All of these happens for a good reason: the Gormiti’s ancestral enemies, the DArkans, are back and threatening all living beings.
