DreamWorks brings How to Train Your Dragon back to the box office top

Four weeks into being in theaters, “Dragons” breathes fire once more! DreamWorks Animation’s latest CG and 3D epic, How To Train Your Dragon was released nearly a month ago, on March 26th, finding the top spot at the box office then. After weeks of doing battle with Clash of the Titans, Date Night, and now the comic book based Kick Ass, How To Train Your Dragon claws it’s way back to the #1 spot again, pulling in $20 million dollars and bringing it’s US total to just under $160 million. Having a #1 spot so late into the release cycle is certainly a rare and admirable feat — just ask Avatar, having done it nearly two months in a row. Take a look at the full box office listing:

How to Train Your Dragon – $20,000,000
Kick-Ass – $19,750,000
Date Night – $17,300,000
Death at a Funeral – $17,000,000
Clash of the Titans – $15,750,000
The Last Song – $5,800,000
Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too? – $4,100,000
Hot Tub Time Machine – $3,545,000
Alice in Wonderland – $3,500,000
The Bounty Hunter – $3,200,000
Diary of a Wimpy Kid – $2,800,000
Avatar – $1,025,000
