According to a recent announcement, DreamWorks Animation is once again reshuffling its scheduled release date for the franchise sequel Kung Fu Panda 3. From its previously announced March 18, 2016 slot, fans will now be able to watch Po and his hilarious antics a few months earlier on January 29, 2016. This is not the first time the release date was changed, as the original announced premiere was December 18, 2016, but DWA moved it earlier in order to avoid competing with the box office juggernaut that is Star Wars (via the Force Awakens.)
The first two movies in the Kung Fu Panda franchise was a resounding success, raking in almost $1.3 billion in worldwide box office numbers. The 3rd aims to continue the track record, and will do so with its original voice actor for Po, Jack Black. He will be joined by new additions Rebel Wilson and Bryan Cranston. Directorial duties will be handled by Jennifer Yuh Nelson.
