Nickelodeon Launches Social VR Experience, SlimeZone

Nickelodeon and IMAX Corp. have recently joined forces in order to launch a new multiplayer social VR experience dubbed “SlimeZone” to IMAX’s VR Experience Centres all over the globe. The fun has already started at select venues in LA, NY, and Toronto. There are plans to launch overseas as well, with Shanghai, Bangkok, and Manchester, UK being one of the first places to be confirmed.

SlimeZone is described as a social VR experience that supports up to six players consisting of kids and their family members to interact in a Nickelodeon-inspired virtual world. Users will select an avatar, and then proceed to slime blast each other with the iconic Nickelodeon green slime. They will also be able to play virtual ping pong and basketball games, or exercise their creativity in virtual art projects involving glitter streams and colorful paint. What’s more, they can also watch their favorite Nick shows while in the virtual world. Non-VR players will not be left out, because they can participate via the spectator mode by using a virtual drone to slime players.
