Level-5’s robot battling franchise, The Little Battlers eXperience has created big business for the Japanese video game publisher. The franchise spawns a hit anime series, a video game on PSP that’s at 300,000 units and counting, a toyline that has amassed more than 1.5 million units in sales, card games, arcade games, and more. So it should come to no surprise that more LBX is on the way as Level-5 announces an expanded re-release of the original PSP title in The Little Battlers eXperience: Boost set to hit Japanese store shelves next month.
The Little Battlers eXperience: Boost hits PSP in this expanded re-release of the original game with new playable characters, robots, expanded co-operative play, and the ability to transfer data from the original game, or combat against owners of the original game in multiplayer fun. Fans of the manga series, which is serialized in Coro Coro Comics (the home of Pokemon, Beyblade, and more), will have even more fun knowing that characters and robots that have only appeared in the manga will be in this release.
The game was the biggest hit of Level-5’s convention this year, amassing wait times of around an hour before participants could have a chance at playing the newest game. The game is set to hit Japanese PSPs on November 23rd. No Western release for Boost, nor the original LBX release has been announced. That said, the anime series has been confirmed for release in North America, and has its first 78 episodes currently recording in Calgary, Canada.
