Dreamworks Animation is preparing to venture further into the streaming content market, as they will be launching a brand-new family oriented streaming channel via Youtube. Dubbed ‘DreamWorks TV,’ DWA’s new Youtube channel will feature original, live-action, and animated content. DreamWorks TV was first announced at the recent Youtube Brandcast event in New York.
The content for Dreamworks TV will be handled by a separate DW creative time under the direction of AwesomenessTV founder and CEO Brian Robbins, whose own channel was acquired by DreamWorks last 2013.
Some of the new content showcased by Youtube head of content and business operations Robert Kyncl include the original toon Jimmy Blue Shorts. Other animated offerings that will be featured on the channel include Fifi: Cat Therapist and Gorillaville.
