Hasbro’s Hanazuki: Full of Treasures animated series began airing on Sony Pictures Television’s Pop channel on March 26th. The British broadcaster airs the first season Mondays through Fridays at 10 AM and 4:30 PM.
Produced by Hasbro Studios in conjunction with animation studio Titmouse, Hanazuki is about a new moonflower taking on a mysterious dark force. The vivid characters were inspired by the Amsterdam-based artists Niko Stumpo and Hanneke Metselaar. The first season, consisting of 27 ten minute episodes originally debuted on YouTube last year.
In addition to the show’s YouTube run, the series also aired on television in Canada. Corus Entertainment’s YTV, Teletoon, Cartoon Network Canada and Disney Channel Canada channels debuted the series on January 28, 2017.
Hasbro has big plans for Hanazuki and hopes the series continues to find broadcast partners globally. The company is preparing the second season to debut later this year. A third season is also in development.
“Hanazuki is a strong, multidimensional and relatable heroine and we are excited to introduce her to POP viewers across the UK,” said Nina Scales, VP International Distribution at Hasbro.
