Steven Spielberg’s The BFG trailer has been released. Premiering on July 1 in theaters, the new feature adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic is produced by Amblin Entertainment and Disney Studios in association with Walden Media. The latest trailer shows the Big Friendly Giant and some of the magical scenery of Giant Country.
The film focuses on Sophie, a 10-year-old human girl (Ruby Barnhill) who is pulled out from her home by Big Friendly Giant (Mark Rylance), a gentle-natured giant with enormous ears and strong sense of smell. Sophie was frightened at first when she was taken to BFG’s cave but soon, she’ll realize that her captor is a good-hearted buddy who teaches her all about mystery of dreams and magic. However, clash arises when the presence of Sophie in Giant Country disturbs the other larger and more violent Giants including Fleshlumpeater (Jemaine Clement) and Bloodbottler (Bill Hader). BFG and Sophie return to London to give warning to the Queen (Penelope Wilton) about the menace and convince her that Giants are real.
BFG also features Rafe Spall and Rebecca Hall. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the screenplay of the film is written by Melissa Mathison and produced with Sam Mercer and Frank Marshall.
