Miraculous finds new U.S. TV home on Disney Channel
Maybe the third time will be the charm for Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir on TV in the United States. After a challenging run on Nickelodeon, as well as a successful one on the ill-fated KidsClick, the show has found a third linear home: Disney Channel.
The mouse house is airing episodes from the first two seasons of the shows at 2-3PM and 5:30AM on weekdays. The show has been airing on the channel since April 8th. Episodes are also available on Disney Now.
Marionette landing onto Disney Channel in the United States shouldn’t be that much of a shocker. Disney Channel Europe is a co-producer on the series and as a result, it airs on most Disney channels around the world. Prior to Disney Channel picking up the series in the United States, the show was most widely seen on Netflix in the region.
Produced by ZAG in France, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir debuted in 2015. South Korean studio SAMG provides the animation. Japanese studio Toei Animation consulted. At least 130 half-hour episodes are planned in what’s currently a 5-season run. The series is seen in over 120 countries worldwide. The franchise has also seen success off the screen, generating over $100 million in retail sales in 2017. Skydance Media is currently developing a live-action adaptation.
