Singaporean studio One Animation has recently started production on a new set of episodes of the award-winning kids’ animated comedy series Oddbods. The order for the season was made earlier this year, and as proof of the series’ popularity, has already secured key broadcast partners that include Turner and its flagship channels Cartoon Network and Boomerang in Latin America and across EMEA.
Oddbods is a wacky CG-animated comedy series that focuses on the hilarious antics of seven distinct cute characters, with color-specific clothes that are as unique as their temperaments and attitudes.
The new batch of episodes is the third overall season of Oddbods, but is technically only the second season as the first batch of episodes were released only as a digital short-form series. The Oddbods cartoon is notable for racking up over 1.5 billion views online, with an equally impressive following on social media.
“Oddbods has a strong fan base spanning not only kids but also teens, young adults and parents,” said Sashim Parmanand, CEO of One Animation. “Our broadcast partners are reporting strong viewing figures, and we’ve seen phenomenal growth from our social media following over the last 12 months. Both of which reflect the change in viewing habits – increasingly audiences want to engage across multiple platforms whether it’s a TV or a mobile phone.”
