New Puss in Boots Interactive Episode Debuts on Netflix Today

A new DreamWorks Animation Television production based on Shrek’s popular swashbuckling cat, Puss, will be debuting on Netflix today via a new “branching” narrative experience titled “Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale.” The standalone episode takes advantage of Netflix’s on demand service in order to provide a non-linear adventure much like the iconic Choose Your Own Adventure books from days of yore, with viewers being able to exercise a limited amount of creative control over where the story goes.

The story of Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale centers around the titular cat as he is sucked into a magical book of fairytales and must “get to the end” of all the stories in order to escape, but the dastardly and mysterious Storyteller tries his best to make Puss’ journey ever so difficult, using fairytale characters based on his friends and offering viewers a series of choices that will decide the direction of the story. Viewers are given a choice between two main storylines, Sinbad the Pirate and the Evil Queen, which could lead Puss through a series of different adventures with their own distinct endings.
