Barbie: The Pearl Princess Comes To Shore in March

barbie

I’ve always had a soft spot for these movies. You’d think the overabundance of pink, lacy gowns and talking animals would send me over the edge, but I keep coming back for more. It’s a guilty pleasure that doesn’t come up in normal conversation, and one that I can’t shake even after finding out that this is her 27th CGI-animated talkie.

Barbie: The Pearl Princess is the latest movie/merchandise fusion to come from Mattel. The plan is to release it on March 11, 2014 as a Combo Pack that includes Blu Ray, DVD, and digital HD. Digital HD allows you to download a digital version of the movie and watch it on a tablet or other device.

Barbie stars as Lumina, a mermaid who dreams of being a princess. As long as she can remember, she’s had a magical power that makes pearls dance and glow! Lumina, and her best friend Kuda, a pink seahorse, embark on an adventure to a majestic mer-kingdom.

Mattel and MGA Entertainment continue the battle for Bratz

Mattel and MGA Entertainment continue the battle for Bratz

Maybe you thought it was over. Maybe you thought it was safe to go back into the water. But, apparently, the battle between MGA Entertainment and Mattel for the rights to the Bratz is never-ending! The most recent ruling int he case by a federal judge gave MGA the right to a new trial on every issue between the two companies. Prior to that, Mattel won a huge battle, reclaiming ownership of the Bratz dolls, animated series, and more, in addition to $100 million in damages. But now? Everything is out the window, and the trial begins anew! A huge (temporary?) win for MGA over the Barbie creator, Mattel. Court is expected to start January 11th, 2011, and will no doubt be just as crazy as the original trials. So get ready to get your glam on, cuz the Bratz could be back in business!
