Toy Story of Terror Extended Clip

Toy story of terror extended clip

We have previously posted something about Pixar’s upcoming Halloween special titled “Toy Story of Terror,” which features everybody’s favorite gang of toys in their first ever scary TV special. We have also posted the first trailer, but we’re not done yet (or rather, Pixar is not done yet), because a new extended trailer has just been released, and we’re posting it here for you to see:

Mattel brings Pixar’s Toy Story Space Mission To Infinity and Beyond

Mattel brings Pixar's Toy Story Space Mission To Infinity and Beyond

It’s been just a little over a year since Disney and Pixar brought the Toy Story franchise full circle, from Andy to Bonnie, with last summer’s Toy Story 3. However, even with the film’s bittersweet closure, fans have been wondering (Buzz-ing, even) about a fourth sequel since the credits rolled on the third film. And while Mattel isn’t exactly stepping forth to announce Toy Story 4, they did something almost as cool; animating a Toy Story short film using the actual Toy Story toys! The entire spot was created using toys from a new line, Toy Story: Space Mission, during a 4 week toymation filming session, where each character is all geared up in special outfits. Take a look at the animated short, as well as shots of the toy line!

Pixar and Disney's Toy Story 3 wins Best Licensed Program

Every year, the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) gathers at the Licensing International Expo. That’s a lot of words, and a lot of titles, and really it all amounts to “who had the best toy”. When the dust settled at the end of the 2011 Expo in Las Vegas, there was a clear winner amongst the group: the third installment of Disney and Pixar’s CG franchise, Toy Story 3. While Hello Kitty took home the award for best Character and Toy Brand, Toy Story nabbed the top overall spot, bringing yet another honor to Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of Andy’s toys.

Fanimation: Doodle v.s. Doodle

Fanimation: Doodle v.s. Doodle

Fan animation has been around as long as professional animation – in fact, many would argue longer. We’ve featured a few spots in the past months highlighting some of the work we’ve found on the net, hoping to shed some fame towards the hard work of some loyal toonists out there. This latest piece, Doodle vs Doodle, is yet the newest addition to the segment we’ll title “Fanimation” from now on. The production is entirely created in stop-motion video by Jace D, at the young age of 13! As a bonus to Jace’s great work, we also liked spotting some of the animation influences within the project: Toy Story’s Buzz, T.U.F.F. Puppy, Phineas and Ferb, and more. Check out Jace’s work, and see what else you notice!

Toy Story 4 puts Buzz in a vacuum

Toy Story 4 puts Buzz in a vacuum

Well… no. The first Toy Story saw Woody and Buzz get separated from Andy and the toys. Pixar’s sequel, Toy Story 2, had the crew meet with the Woody’s Round Up Gang. Disney’s third tale, Toy Story 3, reversed the plot of the first CG film and had Andy separate from the toys. Now, what if Toy Story 4 was simply Andy’s mom cleaning house and vacuuming up all the spare bits and pieces of each and every toy? Tell me that doesn’t sound a little more threatening than Zurg! Recently, a commercial for the LG Kompressor Elite debuted on TVs around the globe, showing off the vacuum’s power. The story told in the 75 second clip takes that Toy Story 4 concept for a spin. Check it!

Disney and Pixar present Toy Story 3 concept art

Disney and Pixar present Toy Story 3 concept art

Looks… familiar? I mean, close, but not really? You can sorta see Andy and Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie, Rex, Bullseye, Hamm, and a few others from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story franchise, but the detail is certainly much less CG than we’re used to. That’s because this is the concept art phase of the film’s development. Months after the hand-drawn sketches take us through the basics of the story, individual scenes are fleshed out with color in these rendered paintings, giving all of the digital artists a proper sense of what to create. The lighting, the mood, the frame cropping, etc. And guess what; there’s tons of this content, all happily packed in the Blu-ray and DVD combo packs, due in stores November 2nd. Check out some more!

Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 3 is available on Blu-ray and DVD on November 2nd. Before the movie arrived home in neato little packages, the film was in theaters. Before that, it was being rendered and digitized at the various Disney offices and headquarters. And before that, the 3D and CG rendered gorgeous piece of artwork that we know as the completed Toy Story adventure was just a mere collection of marker-and-paper drawings. As the creative folks behind the film sat down together, it was their job to put everything in place. Make sure the story worked, had all the characters fully developed, and told the tale they wanted to tell. In that process, they use a technique called “storyboarding”, where there are sketches of key moments in the film placed in the order that they happen. The home versions will go into a bit more detail on this, but in the meantime, check out some of these exclusive shots right here.
