The Monkey King to Be Screened in 3D

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences will be hosting a special 3D screening of the classic Chinese animated film The Monkey King: Uproar in Heaven as part of their China Onscreen Biennial, which is scheduled to be presented along with the UCLA Confucius Institute, and will be playing on Wednesday, October 17 at 7:30 PM at the Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood.

China Gets Oriental DreamWorks

DreamWorks Animation SKG has recently started a joint venture with China Media Capital, with pending plans to include Shanghai Alliance Investment, Ltd. and Shanghai Media Group, in order to establish a China-centric family of entertainment companies. Dubbed Oriental Dreamworks, the outfit will produce and develop original Chinese animated and live-action content similar to its western counterpart. With distribution being planned within China and to other territories around the world.
