Nickelodeon to Launch Bilingual Preschool Learning Toys for Dora the Explorer

Nickelodeon and Smart Play, LLC., have recently joined forces in order to launch a new line of dual-language preschool learning toys based on the Dora the Explorer franchise. Set for a spring debut nationwide, the product line will include a whole slew of electronic learning toys and puzzles that can be played in both English and Spanish languages. The toys are designed to be lightweight and compact, making them ideal for use by kids at home and on the go.

When it comes to extremely detailed sculpting, typically replicating anime and game characters, Japan ranks in at first place. To push the envelop even further, there’s an event dedicated to this very art, located in Chiba, Japan, and that’s the bi-annual sculpture event Winter Wonder Festival (Wonfes). If fans weren’t pleased with previous anime/game character figures, then chances are high that they’ll be pleased with the figures showcased during Wonfes.

Jazwares has just launched a new line of figures and plush toys based on several classic Hanna-Barbera cartooon characters. The products retailed nationwide earlier this month, with additional rollouts scheduled to continue into the fall consisting of popular franchises such as The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Tom & Jerry, Yogi Bear, Space Ghost, Secret Squirrel, Captain Caveman and Hong Kong Phooey.

For twenty years, Sonic the Hedgehog has been a massively popular icon for video games and animation, alike. Whether you’re watching Sonic X or playing Sonic the Hedgehog 4, the blue speedster has surely brought you hours of joy. Sega is looking to reward that dedication with their upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog’s 20th anniversary celebration. To kick the party up a notch, the company is producing 1,000 specially crafted figurines that depict the Blue Blur. Cartoon Network plays Adventure Time toys this Fall

Since April of 2010, Adventure Time has dominated Cartoon Network. The Pendleton Ward and Frederator Studios toon follows Finn and Jake throughout the Land of Ooo. Throw in some magical powers, some imagination overload, and some of the oddest stories you’ve ever enjoyed, and Adventure Time is great new chapter in the world of animation. Now, the CN is working with Jazwares to build a toy line based on the animated series. We’ll get action figures, plush toys, role play items, books, stickers, bags, and more Algebraic stuff that you probably can’t even think of yet. Check out the press release for more info.

Toons are awesome. I mean… well, clearly, we’re a bit obsessed here. But there’s one close-second out there that helps really solidify a cartoon’s place in the hierarchy of what we love: toys based on that cartoon. That’s why we were more than thrilled to hear that HIT Entertainment has teamed with Character Options to start cranking out some toys based on the new CG series Mike the Knight. Set to debut on TVs this fall, the Nelvana Studios series fills the void of midieval cartoons, complete with knights, princesses, castles and dragons, and the figures and other products will follow suit (of armor)!

I like Pokemon. I would go so far as to say, over the years, I’ve really loved the franchise! Toons, cards, toys, games, etc. It’s awesome. But… then, I heard of Lisa Courtney through a little publication called Guinness World Records 2010. According to the book, Lisa Courtney has collected more than 13,000 Pokemon items. Thur. Teen. Thousand. That’s statues and figures and pens and shirts and backpacks and cups and anything else you could Poke-possibly Poke-think of. Through the past decade of collecting, the 21 year old girl has dedicated entire rooms of her house, including her mother’s room! “I’ve even named the room where my main collection resides ‘Pok√©mon Centre Europe!'” she said. First 4 Figures brings Sonic Mini Figure 6-Pack Collection to stores

He’s fast – incredibly fast – but First 4 Figures still managed to get a good look at him. That turns out to be some pretty good news to us, as now we can get our hands on some sweet figurines! The toy company has just announced a set of six PVC figures from Sega’s Sonic franchise. The grouping, called the Sonic Mini Figure 6-Pack Collection, is set to hit stores next month, with a price tag of around $30. The models stand about 2 inches tall, with a full representation of the Sonic the Hedgehog gang, including; Classic Sonic, Amy, Knuckles, Super Sonic, Tails and Metal Sonic – all complete in a collectible box!

Nintendo is inviting Pokemon fans to visit the Nintendo World Store. What’s there? A brand new selection of Pokemon Tomy figures, including the beloved Pikachu and the Legendary Pokemon from the Johto region, like Ho-Oh, Lugia, Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. But that’s not all! Attendees can even spot the rarely seen Arceus, Mew, and Celebi in the mix of Pocket Monsters. Better yet, Nintendo promises if you buy 4 of the Game Boy and DS starring action figures, they’ll throw you a fifth one for free! Don’t believe me? (you’d doubt me!? ToonBarn Rob!?
